Job Description Summary
We are seeking an engineering professional to support the GE Aerospace Product Validation team with a keen focus on data management and business collaboration. This role requires a highly process-oriented individual with strong documentation and data skills, capable of problem-solving and possessing a lean mindset. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to influence without direct authority. This position requires an understanding of engineering principles/language to aid in a multi-million dollar Plant and Equipment (P&E) planning and investment strategy, including tracking execution of spend vs. budget. Familiarity with the operational expense budgeting and tracking process and the ability to interface effectively within Product Validation, Finance, and to partner organizations to understand role-specific requirements is essential. The role involves formulating business strategies, funneling plans, and requirements to leadership for project and budget approval. Candidates with a finance background coupled with engineering experience, as well as project management skills to ensure project alignment with plans, will be highly desired. This position offers a valuable learning opportunity within GE Aerospace, emphasizing FLIGHT DECK (LEAN) principles, and targets engineering candidates eager to embrace the business strategy of Engineering. US citizenship is required.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities

Process improvement and metrics tracking in assigned operations areas. Use of FLIGHT DECK methodology to work in a LEAN manner. Areas may include Plant & Equipment (P&E), Special Tooling and Bullet Train (OPEX) support.

Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.

Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services.

Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and can construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.

May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.

Oversee daily management system & defect tracking system for Product Validation team
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related technical field
-
At least 5 years of experience in engineering, operations, or manufacturing type role

Finance/budgeting experience
-
On site at Evendale, OH location

Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to break down data into actionable, concise insights/reports/visuals to drive informed decision-making

Ability to lead and deliver in a highly matrixed environment on result-orientated priorities using strong project management, analytical, time management and prioritization skills

Well established organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple high priority projects/programs in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure.

Experience managing many projects on global scale along with budget vs spend responsibility
