Job Description Summary
The Lean Leader will be responsible for the overall implementation of lean manufacturing concepts in the factory. The candidate will strategize the factory’s lean implementation’s long-term strategy, its milestone, all while ensuring good execution to achieve the roadmap. You will also be responsible with the salient KPIs of lean manufacturing around supply chain velocity. This a leadership role which will provide direction to Kaizen Promotion Office (KPO) staff, including training, mentoring, and performance management.
Job Description Essential Responsibilities
Drive lean initiatives across the site including lean flow line creation, conducting action workouts (AWO’s), and leading lean culture. Work with Plant Leadership team to establish a customer-based improvement strategy, which drives safety, customer responsiveness, lead time reduction, quality improvement, and cost reductions in line with business/functional objectives.
- Create the Lean vision and implement a Lean strategy to reduce inventory, lead time, and waste,
- Create connected flow within the facilities and develop a problem solving culture around line stops,
- Drive dissemination of lean culture, ensuring the culture’s good embraceability across the factory,
- Support early integration of Lean principles in product design & process development for New Product Introductions,
- Drive measurable improvements in lead-time, customer delivery, productivity, and inventory,
- Develop value stream maps for the Organization and eliminate process waste through implementation of Lean techniques,
- Establish and drive a Gemba walk methodology that drives cross functional problem solving on the shop floor,
- Prepare operational budgets to fund Lean annual activities and estimate productivity gains,
- Lead preparation work for global lean activities and lead open actions closure post-activity,
- Manage and develop Kaizen Promotion Office (KPO) shop, including its layout and materials management,
- Ensure prompt response on lean-related concerns/issues through effective delegation to the KPO organization,
- Prepare Lean review presentations and pitch to business leaders on Lean business reviews,
- Review and manage overtime, shift and staffing requirements for KPO organization on a weekly basis. Ensure sufficient cover during employee absence,
- Provide leadership and coaching for KPO organization, managing their development as well as monitoring their performance on aspects (attendance, disciplinary, etc.), and
- Coach, train and mentor site leadership on the fundamentals and principals of Lean Manufacturing.
- Be an advocate of GE Vernova Way and PT GE Nusantara Turbine Services Value as part of the leadership team.
Qualifications/Requirements
- A Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business/Management, or Engineering from a local or internationally reputable university,
- At least 7 years work experience on supply chain or manufacturing or services operations,
- Lean Action Workout Experience or other hands-on experience in Lean deployment and driving changes in production shop floor through strategic projects,
- Experienced in leading teams and delivering business results.
- At least intermediate level of active English (daily contact with foreign colleagues) is required,
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint),
- Familiarity with SAP ERP is a plus,
- Ability and willingness to travel as required, and
- Willing to stay in Bandung.
