Job Description Summary
The MRO Inventory Specialist in the Schenectady Facilities Operation group is responsible for indirect material from requisition to receipt for the Steam Turbine & Generator manufacturing plant within GE VERNOVA Gas Power in Schenectady, NY. They will be expected to make business critical decisions in a timely manner and meet safety, quality, production, and delivery metrics within the cell.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Support the indirect material purchasing process including reorders, identification of suppliers, cost control, material usage and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure inventory accuracy, lead times, stock, and manage obsolescence of all tooling and maintenance parts
- Work with operations team on daily material schedule requirements. Plan and prepare material needs based upon schedules and changing usage demands
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge and experience of parts management and warehousing to execute policy/strategy to optimize inventory and improvements
- Provide oversight and management of front-line hourly manufacturing employees
- Active participation in safety initiatives.
- Ensure operational alignment with plan costs, delivery and KPIs.
- Provide consistent follow-up and clear communication to elevate issues to stakeholders.
- Demonstrate ability to work with subject matter experts to identify and comprehend parts from drawings, technical specifications, schematics, and physical characteristics.
- Coordinate alternative sourcing vendor quotes and bidding as required
- Work closely with the Operations Manager, providing daily updates and weekly metrics on performance, schedules
- Contribute to continuous improvement using Lean and 5S Initiatives. Apply lean techniques to MRO parts order, receipt and inventory
- Train and support personnel in the effective use of CMMS systems
Required Qualifications
- For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Materials and Production Planning.
- Minimum of 2 years manufacturing supervisory experience including inventory warehouse
- Computer literate with the demonstrated ability to learn CMMS systems (Maximo/L2L), SAP and Microsoft Office products such as Excel.

The base pay range for this position is **$81,700.00 - 136,700.00 USD Annual.**The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.
