Are you excited at the opportunity to electrify and decarbonize the world?
What impact you'll make
As a Senior Value Engineer in the Direct Air Capture NPI Engineering team, you will be an active contributor to driving cost optimization and value engineering initiatives for first-of-a-kind carbon removal systems and establishing scalable, repeatable design standards that enable commercial viability of DAC technology.
Job Description
What you'll do
- Lead comprehensive value engineering studies and cost optimization initiatives across DAC system designs and manufacturing processes
- Develop and implement standardized design building blocks and modular approaches for repeatable DAC components including capture modules, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, piping, and structural components.
- Analyze system architectures and equipment selections to identify cost reduction opportunities in materials, manufacturing methods, and installation approaches
- Collaborate with vendors and engineering teams to balance technical performance requirements with cost targets and commercial viability constraints
- Establish value engineering methodologies and best practices specific to DAC technology development and deployment
- Drive cross-functional cost reduction workshops and facilitate value engineering sessions with mechanical, electrical, controls, and process engineering teams
- Develop cost models and life-cycle analyses to evaluate design alternatives and support business case development for DAC products
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for cost reduction and performance improvement in carbon capture systems
What you'll bring (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related technical discipline with 10+ years of value engineering or cost optimization experience
- Extensive experience in industrial equipment design, manufacturing cost analysis, and value engineering methodologies
- Demonstrated track record leading cost reduction initiatives and achieving measurable cost savings in complex engineering projects

- Expertise in modular design approaches, skid-based systems, or repeatable industrial products
- Experience in NPI, product development, or early-stage technology commercialization environments
- Demonstrated success in cross-functional leadership and influencing technical decisions across multiple engineering disciplines
- Experience with design-to-cost methodologies, supplier development, and supply chain optimization
- A background in startup-like environments with ability to drive results in fast-paced, resource-constrained settings
- Advanced degree in Engineering, MBA, or professional certification in value engineering
