Job Description Summary
All resources, and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property. These activities contribute to, maintain, repair and refurbish sold or existing products. Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.
Job Description
What you’ll do:
- Provide engineering support across CCS, BBP, and M&D projects, ensuring high‑quality technical deliverables.
- Manage project workload to maintain a billable utilization ratio of 90% or above.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and operations teams.
- Support Operations with project control activities including planning, profitability analysis, and internal/external reporting.
- Ensure all customer‑agreed deliverables documentation timelines, quality, reliability, and scope are met within approved budgets.
- Uphold workplace EHS standards and ensure appropriate PPE availability for internal and subcontracted T&C personnel.
- Maintain consistent customer interaction through meetings, reviews, and formal communication to ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Perform engineering and site activities including:Protection relay engineering
- Panel modifications
- Protection logic diagrams
- GA/LA drawings
- Bill of Materials preparation
- Purchasing requests
- Protection/SCMS/LCC schematics
- SCMS & cybersecurity architectures
- SCMS signal lists, cable schedules, control desk drawings
- IEC 61850 signal mapping
- Prepare and review production documentation (wiring tables, label lists, cable schedules, interpanel wiring files).
- Conduct CT/VT adequacy checks, relay settings, protection coordination studies, and RTDS evaluations.
- Support engineering and site works for busbar protection systems.
- Demonstrate proficiency with protection relay software, testing kits, and Microsoft Office.
- Review and update drawings based on customer/consultant comments and provide formal technical responses.
- Provide technical clarifications to customers and suppliers.
- Coordinate with panel manufacturers to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Represent GE in customer workshops, technical discussions, and design reviews.
- Ensure timely delivery and quality of outsourced design documentation.
- Provide guidance to draftsmen and support their daily design activities.
- Deliver support for tendering activities, including site surveys and proposal preparation.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic or Electrical Power Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of engineering experience with emphasis on protection systems.
What will make you stand out:
- Strong knowledge of protection panel design (relay lists, PLDs, AC/DC load calculations, scheme drawings).
- Hands‑on experience in CT/VT calculations, relay settings, and protection coordination studies (OC/EF).
- Understanding of HV/EHV network protection applications and modern substation automation technologies.
- Experience in MD solutions.
- Familiarity with GE GA products and automation systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in technical English (Arabic is beneficial but not mandatory).
- Excellent time management and ability to multitask under tight deadlines.
- Ability to interpret tender documents, schematics, contractual scope, and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to collect data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Experience preparing routine technical reports and customer correspondence.
- Prior experience managing protection and control system projects is an asset.
