GE Vernova Advanced Research Center is seeking a seasoned and visionary Senior PhD Researcher to lead initiatives within our Operations Research team. With 5–10 years of postdoctoral experience, you will drive the development of advanced analytical solutions to complex industrial challenges across energy, aviation, healthcare, and manufacturing domains. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking, offering the opportunity to shape research direction, mentor junior staff, and influence high-impact programs. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions that push the boundaries of optimization, simulation, and decision science.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of large-scale optimization and simulation models
• Architect analytical frameworks that address strategic business and engineering challenges
• Engage with external stakeholders, including government agencies and industry partners
• Publish high-impact research and represent GE Research at conferences and technical forums
• Contribute to and lead proposal development for external funding and strategic initiatives
• Translate emerging research trends into actionable innovation opportunities
• Ensure technical rigor and scalability of deployed solutions
• Mentor junior researchers and guide technical development across multiple projects

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field
• 5–10 years of experience in applied operations research or analytics
• Proven track record of leading complex research projects and delivering impactful results
• Proven track record of shaping and obtaining funding for OR research programs
• Expertise in mathematical programming, stochastic modeling, and simulation
• Proficiency in programming and modeling tools (e.g., Python, C++, MATLAB, Gurobi, CPLEX)
• Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and conferences

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
