Job Description Summary
Aero Service Technologies Italy is seeking an experienced Shop Operations Manager to lead our workshop operations at the Mesagne facility. This pivotal role involves overseeing all production activities and ensuring they align with our Safety, Quality, Delivery, and People (SQDP) standards. The Shop Operations Manager, serving as the head of the workshop, will report directly to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for the supervision of all operators and team leaders across the L5 Repair Shop production lines. The role is intended to be performed on-site, no flexible arrangements.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight: manage and oversee all workshop operations to ensure adherence to SQDP standards.
- Actively participate in the development, implementation, and stabilization of new operational processes, supporting the successful start‑up of the new production site.
- Lead by example in promoting a strong safety and quality culture, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory, company, and operational requirements.
- Team Leadership: directly supervise and support all operators and team leaders, fostering a collaborative, open and efficient work environment.
- Safety Management: ensure all safety protocols are strictly followed, maintaining a safe workplace for all employees.
- Quality Assurance: implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure all production meets the highest standards and drive zero-defect mindset.
- Delivery Coordination: optimize production schedules to meet delivery timelines and customer expectations.
- People Development: encourage and facilitate the continuous professional growth of team members through training and mentorship.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: work closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration of processes and strategies.
- Be responsible for EHS and the Quality matters for the line, promoting and leading continuous improvement following the general principles of the Safety Decree Law 81/08 and the standards of ISO 45001 and 14001 (i.e. in managing Work Force, taking care of working tools and methods)
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in manufacturing or service shop environment with a relevant leader role.
- Mechanical Engineering or similar University Background or working experience.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of production management principles and practices.
Desired Characteristics:
- Previous experience in component repair/aero engines/aeroderivative turbine operations is considered a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Fluency in Italian and English written and spoken
