Job Description Summary
This role involves leading projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business. The role will provide opportunity to contribute to the overall Engineering management of complex projects with scope for Marine VCS, DP, Power Systems, Drive Controls and other advanced applications provided by GE Power Conversion business. The selected candidate will be part of a strong engineering team and provide the technical leadership aligned with the India region.
This role also involves partnering with global P&Ls for effective planning and execution of global projects; having close focus on quality of deliverables and in developing the best-in-class capability at India business across Marine segment.

Roles and Responsibilities
-
Responsible for leading and coordinating technical aspects of larger projects with complex architecture that have huge impact on the business.

Drive lean methodology to provide optimum technical solutions for the projects.

Lead Design and implementation of optimized control architectures that meet the product and project requirements, considering the existing components and future control platform evolution in the business.

Support the business in creating and reviewing (in conjunction with the leadership team) systems solutions as part of the process, ensuring that solutions are technically fit for purpose and that technical risk is understood and managed with contingencies identified.

To demonstrate domain expertise in Marine to provide consulting solutions to the lead engineers in projects as well as to the customers.

Support the leadership team in the development of technology road maps in response to future business opportunities and strategy, while providing direction and a domain process viewpoint to the Engineering teams.

To work closely with ITO team to provide oversight and reviews of deliverables in the proposal/bid phase.

To work closely with CTH team to analyze the technical proposals and identify the risks along with the mitigation actions without compromising on the customer expectations.

To support sales team in providing technical presentations to the customers for winning larger orders thereby enhancing the business and also to review customer requirements and highlighting differences/gaps between those requirements and GE capabilities.

To work closely with project management in increasing the project margins.

Interface with Sourcing and Purchasing to ensure suppliers products are meeting specifications.

To support engineering team in validating the key deliverables in the projects to ensure the quality.

To work closely with managers in hiring the right resources, filling the skill-set gaps and developing the talents.

To work closely with customers to resolve their ongoing issues, perform RCA's and implement corrective actions for a better customer experience.

Keeping up to date with Industry trends and developments.

Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a related field with 15 years of experience.

Domain Expertise in Marine / Oil and Gas Power systems or Automation background.

Good Understanding on Marine classification Society rules.

Should have lead Marine / Oil and Gas complex projects working with different stakeholders.

Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.

Strong leadership and organizational abilities.

Willingness to build professional relationships with colleagues and customers.
-
Excellent communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
