As an Electrical Engineering Project Manager, you will support the delivery of projects for utilities and private energy producers across Greece and Cyprus, with occasional work in the Balkans. This role requires someone with strong technical grounding in electrical engineering and the ambition to grow into a senior project management position over time.
You will work closely with customers, internal manufacturing units, suppliers, and field teams to ensure successful project planning, execution, documentation, and commercial follow up. This is a dynamic, customer facing position with a clear development path and mentorship by an experienced Project Manager preparing the next generation of leadership.
Job Description
As the Electrical Engineering Project Manager, you will manage a variety of power transmission service and substation projects—coordinating engineering specifications, equipment deliveries, documentation, schedules, and commercial aspects. While primarily office‑based, the role includes occasional site visits (e.g., new substations) approximately once every two months.
You will be responsible for maintaining complete project documentation, aligning delivery timelines with internal and external suppliers, supporting factory acceptance tests, and acting as the customer’s main point of contact once fully onboarded. Over time, you will gain increasing responsibility in project leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination & Delivery
- Support execution of high‑voltage substation and service projects across Greece, Cyprus, and occasionally the wider Balkans.
- Review technical specifications, IEC/IEEE standards, and equipment details; propose technical alternatives when required.
- Coordinate internally with engineering teams, manufacturing sites (Italy, France, India, Germany, Spain), and sourcing.
- Manage external suppliers and local contractors; follow up on delivery times, customs clearance, and logistics (with support from the local logistics specialist).
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain a complete digital and physical project archive including hard copies.
- Handle contracts, warranty documents, correspondence, technical files, and commercial records.
- Organize and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and ensure all deliverables meet customer requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with GE Vernova and local site safety procedures; collaborate with the safety officer on work sites.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Participate in customer negotiations and technical/commercial clarifications.
- Overtime, become the primary point of contact for customers and stakeholders.
- Ensure timely communication with customers regarding project progress, changes, risks, and delivery schedules.
Financial & Reporting
- Support project reviews, cost tracking, cash flow monitoring, billing milestones, and invoicing.
- Manage incoming supplier invoices and maintain complete financial correspondence.
- Prepare status reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering(mandatory).Strong understanding of electrical principles and ability to interpret technical specifications and IEC/IEEE standards.
- Fluency in Greek and English**(mandatory).**Customer documents, contracts, and utility communications are in Greek.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work on‑site in Athens, with occasional travel to project sites.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and motivation to grow into a senior project management role.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience working in power transmission, utilities, substations, or the energy sector.
- Previous involvement in project coordination, customer‑facing work, or engineering roles.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Service Max, or other project management tools (training can be provided).
- Knowledge of equipment such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, transformers, CTs/VTs, or substation components.
- Exposure to supplier management, logistics coordination, or customs processes.
