Job Description Summary

Manage the Sourcing process for all commodity items. The Sourcing Engineer is the focal point to lead the development and execution of long-term commodity strategies for commodities purchasing through negotiation, plan development, and execution. As a Sourcing Engineer, you will strategically develop and manage a global supply chain of goods and services to geographically diverse locations, while driving commercial advantage through achievement of quality, cost, usage and delivery goals. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and lead the overall global commodity strategy for Electrical, Electronics & Mechanical commodities.
  • Partner with all GEV sites and lead the development & execution of global sourcing strategies.
  • Lead the evaluation and selection of new suppliers, development of existing suppliers, and overall supplier management.
  • Drive Sourcing initiatives including growing shared supplier spend, best cost country (BCC), productivity, rationalization of supply base, sole source reduction, cycle reduction, on time delivery and quality improvements, lean & pull production, and cash flow improvement.
  • Put in place and Manage supplier contracts / supply agreements.
  • Manage Procurement Activities Ensure timely creation and release of Purchase Orders to support the Production.
  • Collaborate with Cross functional team to drive fulfilment activities and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Manage projects in a matrix organization across the globe, including interacting with manufacturing personnel to understand unique supplier requirements of global supply chain business
  • Communicate effectively and challenge supplier factory leadership when required

Required Qualifications:

  • For this role, Looking for Bachelor of Engineering Electrical/ Mechanical and have 6+ years' experience in Sourcing.
  • Experience working with SAP ERP - MM(Materials Module).
  • Major commodities Exposure: Mechanical: Sheet Metal fabrication, Heavy Fabrications.
  • Electrical: Cable Harness, Cooling units, System Controls, Heatsinks & Fan.
  • Electronics : Active
  • Power Semiconductors / Passive: Power Capacitors & Power Resistors , PCBA (Printed circuit board assembly)

Commodities covered can be changed, reduced, or enlarged depending on the business need.
