Role Summary
The FACTS Lean Leader will be responsible to assess, monitor, and enhance business performance. In this role, the Lean Leader will be responsible for the development and implementation of Lean strategies and process improvement initiatives, while maintaining a customer-focused approach. They will be expected to identify and recommend improvements to increase customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and improve overall business performance. In addition, the role will manage the portfolio of continuous improvement actions across the FACTS PDG and drive lean process improvements. To ensure success as the Lean leader, you should be a skilled communicator and be adept at business analysis and project implementation.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Lean initiatives across the FACTS PDG which are aligned to the business strategy.
- Establish Hoshin Kanri specific actions for FACTS business, manage the FACTS Bowler in support of this, and define and establish Kaizen event schedule to deliver on needed improvement areas.
- Work with functional leads to build a continuous improvement environment to support an ongoing programme of change. Develop a Gemba rhythm across the FACTS PDG and ensure rhythm and compliance.
- Establish and maintain standards, procedures, and systems to support the Continuous Improvement process.
- Create and maintain a culture of Lean and Continuous Improvement within the organization.
- Identify, analyse, and prioritize Continuous Improvement opportunities.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the implementation of Continuous Improvement projects and initiatives.
- Monitor, measure and report on the progress of Lean initiatives.
- Deliver training programs to educate staff on Lean and Continuous Improvement principles and practices.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to engage staff in Continuous Improvement activities.
- Collaborate with other functions within the FACTS PDG and Regions to ensure successful implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Qualifications / Essential Requirements
- A Business and Engineering understanding of FACTS solutions and how this is applied to improvements.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.
- Lead Kaizen events, act as moderator in process improvement workshops, and ensure good conduct maintained, must be able to push for a good working environment and resolve conflict.
- Knowledge and experience of leading process improvement workshops
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience including power systems or process management.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to identify and manage technical risks.
- Ability to manage and facilitate improvement workshops
- Able to work to deadlines under pressure whilst maintaining the safety, quality and engineering integrity of the solution
