Job Description Summary
The Lead Applications Engineer for Electrical Systems and Grid Interface will be part of a multi-discipline Electrical and I&C Systems technical team of dedicated engineers responsible for the deployment of GVH SMR plant technology (e.g. BWRX-300 Standard Plant) across multiple US and international sites, including comprehensive engineering input to the development of new plant proposals, early works agreements and new product offerings.
In this position, you will gain and maintain a strong understanding of electrical systems design basis of our standard plant design, along with the underlying plant and system-level requirements, and use that understanding to perform detailed gap analysis on prospective customer site requirements (e.g., codes, standards, regulations, grid requirements, etc.). In addition to gap analysis, you will play a critical role in developing conceptual and preliminary design solutions for the gaps identified. This role will focus on both plant internal electrical power systems as well as external grid connection solutions. Leveraging your subject matter expertise in Electrical Systems design, you will support the development of detailed statements of work for current and subsequent project phases, proposal technical write-ups, engineering estimates, schedule development and risk assessments in support of site selection, site permitting, and construction/operation licensing milestones.
