Job Description Summary
The Technical Program Manager (TPM) is the execution driver for the AI Foundry, responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex AI solutions. You will act as the critical bridge between product vision and engineering reality, translating business requirements into actionable technical plans. You will partner with Product Managers, engineers, and BU stakeholders to manage project schedules, identify risks, and clear blockers, ensuring that our transformative AI products are delivered on time and with high quality.
As a GE Vernova accelerator, GE Vernova Advanced Research is driving strategy and leading research & development efforts to execute on the business's mission to help power the energy transition. We forge the collaborations and help invent the technologies required to electrify and decarbonize for a zero-carbon future.
Representing virtually every major scientific and engineering discipline, our researchers are collaborating with GE Vernova's businesses, the U.S. government, and more than 420 entities at the forefront of technology to execute on 150+ energy-focused projects. Collectively, these research programs and initiatives aim to solve near term technical challenges, deliver next generation product advances, and drive long term breakthrough innovation to enable more affordable, reliable, sustainable, and secure energy.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Execution & Delivery: Drive the entire project lifecycle for AI solutions, from initial scoping and planning through development, testing, and deployment, operating within our Agile framework.
- Technical Translation: Partner with Product Managers and the Business Units to translate product roadmaps and business requirements into detailed technical specifications, project plans, and clear deliverables for the engineering teams.
- Resource & Dependency Management: Work directly with engineering leads to manage project timelines, resource allocation, and cross-team dependencies. You will be the central point of contact for understanding who is working on what and when it will be done.
- Risk & Blocker Removal: Proactively identify execution risks, technical challenges, and dependencies. You will be responsible for triaging issues and driving them to resolution, ensuring nothing stands in the way of the engineering team's progress.
- Stakeholder Communication: Own communication on program status and delivery timelines. You will provide clear, regular updates to all stakeholders, including Product Managers, leadership, and BU partners, ensuring there are no surprises.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve our execution and delivery processes, helping the team become more efficient and predictable in its ability to ship high-quality AI solutions.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, with 5-10 years' relevant experience.
- Experience with GE/GE Vernova highly preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in technical program management, software engineering management, or a similar role, with a proven track record of shipping complex, large-scale software projects.
Technical Expertise:
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
- Strong technical background, ideally with hands-on experience in software development.
- Familiarity with the unique requirements of AI and machine learning projects (e.g., data dependencies, model evaluation, POC-to-MVP lifecycle).
- Proficiency with project management tools.
Core Competencies:
- Exceptional Communicator: You can flawlessly translate between technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring everyone is aligned.
- Master Organizer: You excel at creating order from chaos, managing multiple complex projects simultaneously without losing track of the details.
- Proactive Problem-Solver: You don't wait for problems to happen; you anticipate them and work tirelessly to clear a path for your team.
- Influence Without Authority: You are skilled at building consensus and driving alignment across different teams and functions to achieve a common goal.
- You must submit your application for employment on the internal careers page at www.careers.gevernova.com to be considered
