Overview We are seeking a full-time Environmental Health & Safety Specialist 2 at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the greater Kansas City area.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs and processes to ensure a safe and healthy work environment and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Essential Functions Develop, implement, and support continuous improvement of the EHS management systems, programs, and procedures to ensure compliance with standards and regulatory requirements Effectively communicate and provide guidance to associates and management on EHS matters to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement Develop, maintain, and administer EHS training programs Conduct risk assessments, identify and evaluate potential risks, and recommend operational controls to mitigate or eliminate risks Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence of incidents Conduct inspections to assess compliance with company EHS policies, programs and procedures Lead effective and efficient team meetings Participate in internal and external inspections/audits and develop corrective actions and improvement plans Monitor changes in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and/or other applicable regulatory agencies that may affect business activities Oversee and carry out duties related to Garmin’s emergency response program Maintain, monitor, and execute programs, projects and/or tasks related to Contractor Safety Management Oversee and carry out duties related to Garmin’s hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs Validate, maintain, and update company-wide Safety Data Sheets Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related field AND a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in environmental, health and safety OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Must possess demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply EHS regulations, standards and practices, including OSHA, EPA, federal and state regulations Demonstrated ability to analyze a problem to root cause, brainstorm/offer solutions, align with stakeholders and execute solutions Must possess demonstrated project management experience relevant to Garmin’s business needs for performing the essential functions of this role Must be familiar with and possess a working knowledge of manufacturing and warehouse processes relevant for successful performance of this role Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively across functional and organizational lines Detail-oriented and work proactively and effectively while exercising sound judgment Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and ability to manage confidential company matters Demonstrated excellent time management, organizational, and follow-up skills Must possess proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Desired Qualifications Knowledge of ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 standards Health and Safety or Environmental related certifications (e.g.

Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)) Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
