Position Summary We are looking for experienced “hands-on” project managers who have proven track records of being solution and delivery focused, and who can perform at a high level leading strategic, cross-functional, business facing and technical initiatives. This position is perfect for a senior level IT project manager who is open to embrace new methodologies of software development and project management, in particular Agile. The ideal candidate would thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment that is team centric and highly collaborative. This person should have both classic and Agile IT project management experience, and be able to leverage the two disciplines as appropriate. Description • The selected candidate will manage complex software development, architecture, and integration projects in a fast paced, constantly changing dynamic environment • Responsible for effectively initiating, planning, scheduling, estimating, forecasting, coordinating, controlling, managing and delivering all activities for projects and related release initiatives • Oversee the day-to-day progress of project(s) and release initiatives with regard to time, budget, scope and quality • Apply proven project management techniques, methods and tools • Provide leadership, direction and integration activities with other Gap Inc IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support • Monitor and report to IT management on the status of project efforts (including weekly time reporting, weekly budget tracking, monthly forecasting, reconciliation and problem prevention/mitigation) • Partner with Application Delivery to ensure that systems are developed to comply with architectural and testing standards and established methodologies • Aggressively manage risk and issues; and mitigation efforts as appropriate • Use innovative problem solving and critical thinking approaches to proactively solve a broad range of problems across technologies • Act as a role model and mentor on project management methodology, standards, technical, strategy, quality and change leadership • Act as a role model for PM professionalism, critical thinking and setting productivity pace as well as promoting a financial focus with emphasis on business value metric • Encourage de-centralized decision-making within teams, but acts as escalation point when consensus decisions cannot be reached • On some projects, manages and guides other Project Managers (very large projects where additional support is needed) • Provide status reports, presentations and demonstrations to all levels of management both within IT and business partner groups • Manage internal as well as external resources ## Qualifications Minimum 8 Years IT Experience • Minimum 6 Years IT Project Management Experience • Minimum 2 Years Agile experience • BA/BS • MBA a plus • Agile certification a plus • PMI Certification a plus • Experience overseeing budgets of at least $5 million • Experience overseeing project teams with at least 25 FTEs • Open to changing business conditions, technology and system changes • Demonstrated hands-on experience and expertise; and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of software development, testing, change and project management methodologies, concepts, practices, procedures and standards • Demonstrated passion for project management and track record of delivering business value through successful project management, implementation, support and PM transformation • Demonstrated ability to ensure success on all projects through proven track record of applying proven methods and tools to enterprise-wide project implementations • Demonstrated ability to build constructive business relationships and gain the trust of others • Demonstrated ability to anticipate, mitigate, and resolve conflicts across workgroups. • Experience in developing and executing plans, meeting deadlines and operating under tight time constraints • Excellent written and verbal communication as well as negotiating skills • Excellent coaching, team building and group facilitation skills • Excellent interpersonal skills including analytical, problem solving, organizational, issue resolution, and customer relationship management • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage business partners and external vendors
