ABOUT THE ROLE:

FOX Corporation is looking for a Senior SDET for its Digital Product Engineering Android team.

Fox’s SDET is in charge of ensuring the highest quality release of our products. You will mainly be focused on building an automation framework for the project at hand and deciding the best end-to-end testing strategies for the product. The goal for this role is to increase automation test coverage so we can perform quick regression testing prior to each release. You will be working in an agile scrum team, responsible for performing various Quality Engineering functions, including designing test plans, bug reporting, and tools development.

The candidate will design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and tools to ensure the highest quality of our Android applications across different devices and OS versions. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and release engineers to deliver scalable, stable, and high-performing Android products.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, maintain, and execute test plans and test cases against our software platforms and applications

  • Analyze and communicate test results and defect tracking

  • Execute white box, black box, and manual testing

  • Participate in day-to-day team activities as part of an Agile team

  • Engage in cross-functional integration testing within technology teams and with third parties

  • Engage in requirements elaboration and clarification with the product owner

  • Enhance and extend the automation library

  • Contribute to performance and scalability testing efforts

  • Provide the testing estimates to the team

  • Mentor and share the testing practices with the scrum team

  • Technical ownership of software testing infrastructure and improving product quality

  • Take responsibility for monitoring product development and usage at all levels with an eye toward improving product quality

  • Work on automation testing for all existing systems

  • Support all production releases per sprint

  • Research, develop and/or recommend tools to assist the team

  • Perform API-level testing using Postman or Charles Proxy.

  • Work with Android Studio, ADB commands, and emulator/simulator environments.

  • Work with Test Rail/zephyr or any test management tools along with Jira

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • An industry experience of 5 yrs+

  • Experience with Appium, UIAutomator2, or ADB-based automation for android devices.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies

  • Experience with Git and CI tools

  • Expertise with hands-on scripting/coding experience in any automation testing tools (Selenium/Appium), Cucumber Framework, or CodeceptJS

  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written

  • Experience with cloud-based device farms (Browser Stack/Sauce Labs/Headspin).

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT REQUIRED

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • Experience in JavaScript

  • Exposure to other platform mobile testing (iOS) is a plus.
