The D&R (Design & Release) Engineer is responsible to design, develop, validate, release, and implement parts under their responsibility for the assigned vehicle programs. The D&R is also responsible to pursue design improvements to increase quality and optimize cost & weight. The D&R engineer is responsible to design parts that comply with Corporate and Legal Requirements. The D&R signoffs compliance to Engineering Requirements, ES (Engineering Specifications) and DR (Design Rules) as well as the Manufacturing, Assembly and Service requirements. The engineer is also responsible of parts incorporation at the Assembly Plant.

  • Comply with Program cost, weight, quality, performance, and timing targets. 
  • Understand and apply GPDS (Global Product Development System) process. 
  • Comply with Robustness Engineering Disciplines (Quality History, P–Diagram, DFMEA, SCCAF, etc) 
  • Knowledge and application of Six Sigma and 8D issue resolution methodologies. 
  • Develop ESOW (Engineering Statement of Work) and participate in the Sourcing Process (Lead To4 and To5 discussions, ED&T review, piece price and tooling cost review and CPA). 
  • Follow the TDR process (Technical Design Review). 
  • Release parts in FEDEBOM and WERS through the product life cycle. Support the Change Control Meeting. 
  • Audit and update BOM (Bill of Material) with correct part levels and usages for prototype builds and maintain it post Job 1. 
  • Identify validation, durability and functional test required as per Engineering Requirements & ES (DVP / FEDEWB). 
  • DPA1 thru 5, AIMS and DURIS resolution. 
  • Parts implementation/Sign-off in assembly plant & assistance with quality issues in all milestones. 
  • PDL's revisions and proceed accordingly if affected. 
  • Support VQR, VRTs and PVT as required. 
  • Jointly with purchasing, identify potential suppliers to develop parts to be localized. 
  • Jointly with STA give technical assistance to supplier through the Supplier Engagement Process and PPAP completion. 
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering.​
  • English proficiency
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others.
  • 3+ years of experience working on interior trim components.
  • Good program management skills with the ability to manage a number of assignments simultaneously and prioritize appropriately.​
  • Good understanding of Injection Molded parts and its secondary processes
  • Good GD&T understanding
  • CAD Capable (Catia and/or 3DX)
  • Proficient in Teamcenter, FEDEBOM and/or similar software
  • Basic understanding of GPDS milestones
  • Significant problem-solving skills previously demonstrated.   ​
  • Six Sigma training
  • Medium understanding of CAE, Moldflow reports
  • Basic understanding of GPDS milestones
