In this position... 

The Global Supply Chain Manager plays a pivotal role in developing and executing strategic global supply chain and sourcing initiatives for a critical portfolio of materials, components, and services within Power Train Controls, Vehicle Access, & Vehicle Controls. This position demands a strategic mindset, exceptional leadership capabilities, a proven track record in managing complex projects across diverse internal teams and external partners, and an unwavering commitment to driving significant transformational change within our supply chain.

What you'll do...

  • Develop, execute, and continuously optimize global supply chain and sourcing strategies for Power Train Controls, Vehicle Access & Vehicle Controls encompassing competitive bidding, advanced cost analytics, complex negotiations, and comprehensive contract execution.

  • Strategically manage the total cost of ownership, quality performance, and on-time delivery for critical commodities across multiple programs, driving efficiency and maximizing value.

  • Lead proactive cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders, including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Finance, to deeply understand evolving requirements and deliver innovative, end-to-end sourcing solutions.

  • Champion the development and implementation of advanced cost modeling tools, negotiation frameworks, and methodologies to achieve superior financial outcomes and strategic advantages.

  • Cultivate and manage complex, strategic supplier relationships, fostering innovation, ensuring timely delivery, proactive issue resolution, and robust risk mitigation strategies.

  • Continuously monitor global market trends, industry developments, technological shifts, and material indices to proactively identify opportunities for significant cost savings, product enhancements, and disruptive innovation within the supply chain.

  • Lead the development and negotiation of creative, long-term commercial agreements that align with Ford's strategic objectives and foster a culture of partnership and mutual growth.

  • Ensure rigorous compliance with company policies, procedures, ethical standards, and champion sustainable and responsible purchasing practices throughout the supply chain.

  • Drive the strategic onboarding of new suppliers and implement robust supplier performance management frameworks, including innovation metrics, to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Initiate, lead, and drive significant continuous improvement and transformation initiatives within the supply chain, challenging the status quo and implementing best practices.

  • Develop, manage, and optimize budgets and resources allocated to purchasing and supply chain initiatives, ensuring efficient and effective utilization.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a closely related field.

  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or commodity management, with a proven track record of leading complex negotiations, driving innovation, and managing critical projects.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, diverse materials, and end-to-end global supply chain dynamics, including emerging technologies.

  • Proficiency in advanced analytics platforms, strategic sourcing software, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

  • Master's degree (e.g., MBA, MS in Supply Chain).

  • Exceptional analytical, strategic problem-solving, and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to achieve favorable outcomes and foster innovation.

  • Strong communication, compelling presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across all levels of the organization.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $112,680-212,760.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
