In this position...

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and people-focused Supply Chain Manager to lead our materials and logistics operations. As a key People Leader, you will oversee the end-to-end supply chain for a diverse portfolio of commodities, ranging from traditional fuel system components to advanced battery assembly parts. You will be responsible for ensuring that our production lines remain lean and efficient.

What you'll do...

  • People Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of salaried supply chain professionals and hourly personnel, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous learning.
  • Dual-Commodity Strategy: Oversee the integrated supply chain strategy for both Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) components, ensuring seamless support for diverse vehicle programs.
  • Inventory Optimization: Manage and optimize multi-million dollar inventory levels for both ICE and Battery commodities to balance working capital requirements with 100% production uptime.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Act as the primary plant liaison for a global supplier base, managing performance, conducting risk assessments, and resolving critical shortages before they impact the line.
  • Production Scheduling & MRP: Direct the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) process to ensure accurate forecasting and scheduling in alignment with Ford’s Global Production Programming.
  • Logistics & Freight Management: Optimize inbound and outbound logistics flows, working to reduce premium freight costs while maintaining strict delivery windows for downstream assembly plants.
  • New Program Launch Management: Lead the supply chain readiness for upcoming battery and powertrain program launches, ensuring all parts meet quality and timing milestones.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Develop and manage the departmental budget, driving Year-Over-Year (YoY) cost reductions through waste elimination and process improvements.
  • Lean Material Flow: Implement and sustain lean manufacturing principles (PFEP - Plan for Every Part) to improve warehouse density and line-side delivery efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering departments to address technical changes or quality spills that require immediate supply chain pivots.
  • Change Management: Lead the transition of floor space and material handling equipment as the plant shifts capacity from legacy ICE components to increasing battery assembly volumes.
  • Data Analytics & Reporting: Utilize Ford’s internal systems (such as CMMS or SAP) to provide real-time data visualization and reporting on supply chain health to plant leadership.

You'll have...

Even better, you may have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Production System, Synchronous Material Flow, and lean manufacturing knowledge and experience for material replenishment desired

  • Previous plant experience is desired.
