We are seeking a highly motivated and technical OBD Certification Engineer to join our Vehicle Homologation & Compliance (VH&C) team. In this critical role, you will help lead On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) certification and compliance efforts for North American, South Korean, and Chinese markets. You will serve as the primary technical link between Product Development and global regulatory agencies, ensuring all vehicle programs meet stringent requirements to support on-time production launches.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead North American, South Korea, and China On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) certification and compliance to secure agency approvals in time to support production launches.
  • Provide OBD technical and regulatory expertise to Product Development, Environmental Problem Review Committee (EPRC), and internal and external compliance entities.
  • Coordinate aging and testing to generate OBD durability demonstration vehicle/engine data and reports.
  • Coordinate engine procurement and testing for OBD Manufacturer Self-Test programs.
  • Lead OBD deficiency fine process, ensuring accurate payment calculations.
  • Lead process improvement actions to increase quality and improve efficiency.
  • Review owner guides and provide feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Strong technical and oral communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, accessing databases, etc.).
  • Ability to interact effectively with management and other organizations including government agencies.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple issues on multiple programs effectively and efficiently.
  • Outstanding leadership skills with demonstrated ability to deliver results.
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineers and co-workers.
  • Working knowledge of CARB OBDII, EU OBD, and China OBD regulations.
  • Familiarity with emissions/OBD regulations and emissions testing/procedures.
  • Knowledge of Alteryx, PowerApps, and Power BI.
  • Understanding of powertrain controls, emissions components, test methods, and program deliverable milestones.

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of CARB OBDII, EU OBD, and China OBD regulations.
  • Familiarity with emissions/OBD regulations and emissions testing/procedures.
  • Knowledge of Alteryx, PowerApps, and Power BI.
  • Understanding of powertrain controls, emissions components, test methods, and program deliverable milestones.
