Ford Motor Company is looking for a highly creative/strategic Interior Designer and Product Designers for our design studios in Dearborn.  Working on Advanced & Production Interior projects and products. The successful candidate will have to develop both conceptual and production based on Interior solutions in the form of sketch, rendering and 3D digital models. 

What you'll do...

  • Having the ability to think creatively, strategically, and analytically. 

  • Create compelling and innovative interior design experiences and visions for Design Projects.

  • Explore Human Centered Design experience with emphasis in Interior Design holistic experience.

  • Coordinate the work of other design personnel to achieve holistic design visions. 

  • Create future brand focused design visions. 

  • Span digital and physical (software and hardware) thinking. 

  • Problems solve around topics of connectivity, mobility, and consumer segments.

You'll have... 

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, Transportation Design, or similar field of study or a combination of education and equivalent experience

  • 1+ years’ industrial, transport, or product Design experience; including experience with final design product execution. 

  • 1+ years of experience translating 2D to 3D and think three-dimensionally with a strong emphasis on proportions and a refined sense of form also required. 

  • A design portfolio (pdf) must be provided upon application.

Even better, you may have...

  • Product design or interior design experience. 

  • Understanding of exterior/interior manufacturing process and materials. 

  • Passionate about automotive and mobility industry, global trends, innovation and customer needs 

  • Experience of working in or with creative cultures 

  • Experience of working in large, corporate environments is good but not a necessity.

  • Ability to interpret customer needs and global trends into compelling design.

  • Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic.

  • Awareness of global automotive and consumer electronics to ensure Ford competes with the best in the industry. 

  • Demonstrated creative product/interior design perceptions and capability. A design portfolio (pdf) must be provided upon application. 

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners. 

  • Must have exceptional design intuition, strong problem-solving skills and a superior ability to visually communicate through sketches, and renderings. 

  • Familiarizes self and maintains interest with design trends within and across design professions and global cultures (automotive, fashion, product, architectural, etc.) 

  • Outstanding teamwork, leadership, visual, written, and verbal communication skills

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $72,480-121,440., This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480-141,360., This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $96,720-162,120.
