In this position. . .

The Certification Timing and Planning Supervisor will lead a team responsible for supporting delivery of Ford’s global vehicle emissions certification efforts. Your team establishes vehicle program-specific timing plans, ensures availability of prototype vehicles, and coordinates robust implementation of certification review governance processes.

This position requires the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple diverse workstreams simultaneously. Candidates should be self-motivated with established problem-solving skills and possess a high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively across diverse and cross-functional teams utilizing strong written and oral communication skills.

You’ll have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent - mechanical, chemical, or electrical preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience with emissions certification.
  • Strong team leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong integrity, teambuilding, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to effectively multitask and manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of vehicle emissions control systems, engine calibrations, and powertrains.
  • Familiarity with emissions regulations and emissions/fuel economy test equipment and procedures.
  • Infrequent travel may be required.

Even better, you may have...

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration (MBA).
  • In-depth knowledge of North American regulatory frameworks, specifically US EPA (40 CFR) and California ARB (Title 13) standards.
  • Prior experience with Ford proprietary systems, such as WERS (Worldwide Engineering Release System) or GPDS (Global Product Development System).
  • Experience managing certification for electrified powertrains (HEV/PHEV/BEV), specifically regarding US range and efficiency testing protocols.
  • Professional Project Management certification (PMP) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, or Qlik) to streamline KPI reporting for executive leadership.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $112,680-212,760.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on the candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility, and competitive market value.

This position is hybrid. Candidates within commuting distance of a Ford hub location may be required to be on-site four or more days per week.

What you’ll do. . .

  • Supervise an engineering team delivering multiple diverse deliverables in support of global emissions certification.
  • Lead creation of testing and timing plans for global emissions certification programs.
  • Engage with vehicle programs to understand program content and timing and coordinate the ordering of various prototype certification test properties.
  • Coordinate instrumentation, pre-delivery sign-offs, and planned ready-for-testing vehicle updates and quality checks on certification test properties.
  • Lead the coordination of the emissions certification review, change management forum, and emissions calibration releases in Ford’s parts release database.
  • Manage the budgeting, coordination, and tracking of the entire certification vehicle test fleet, including parking, storage, and timely disposition of certification vehicles.
  • Compile and report progress towards department Key Performance Indicator metrics and deliverables, including launch timing objectives.
