As a Design Assurance DFMEA Engineer, you will enable stronger product robustness and help prevent issue recurrence by coaching cross-functional program teams on DFMEA development, feature/system concern closure, and evidence-based control strategies. You will help teams translate lessons learned and chronic concerns into actionable DFMEA content, verify that requirements and test plans appropriately control risk, and accelerate closure of Feature Safety/Concern (S/C) and PAC-related work.
This role is based at the GTBC building with an expectation of being on-site at least 4 days per week.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Working knowledge of DFMEA best practices, including cause-effect relationships, severity/occurrence/detection thinking, and linkage to controls and verification
- Ability to review and challenge requirements and test plans to ensure they control the risk described in the DFMEA
- Familiarity with issue-prevention / recurrence-prevention methods (e.g., corrective action systems, lessons learned, concern tracking and closure discipline)
- Comfort using (or willingness to learn) AI-assisted tools for engineering documentation review and quality workflows (DFMEA and SCCAF/SCCP reviews)
- Strong collaboration, facilitation, and coaching skills—able to influence without relying solely on formal authority
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables across programs and meet milestone-driven timing
