As an EDS Engineer Ford Champ, you will be responsible of for the design, manufacture, and troubleshooting of automotive wiring systems. We are seeking a motivated EDS Champ to join our Electrical Distribution System (EDS) department, offering an excellent opportunity for candidates passionate about automotive technology to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment.
What you´ll do:
Wiring Harness Design and Industrialization.
- Assist in the design and layout and routing of wiring harnesses
- Analyze Program Direction Letters and Trim Spiders.
- Maintain build level complexity charts.
- Perform Harness Complexity Analysis.
- Collaborate with teams for accurate cost estimation. Support in selecting appropriate materials and connectors based on performance and cost considerations
- Ensure compliance with cost, weight, quality, and timing targets.
- Apply Robustness Engineering Disciplines (e.g., FMEA).
- Understand and apply Six Sigma and 8D methodologies
- Audit and update Bill of Materials (BOM) for builds.
- Understand and apply Six Sigma and 8D methodologies.
What you´ll need:
Educational Background
- Active student from any of the last 2 semesters of Electrical /Electronic Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of automotive systems and electrical circuits.
- 90% English skills (Oral, reading, writing, and listening)
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work under supervision.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and report findings.
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of automotive systems.
- Familiarity with wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Understanding of electrical connectors, terminals, and cable assembly techniques.
- Programming Languages:
- Proficiency in languages like Python, Java, or SQL is essential for writing code and managing data
- Understanding and usage of AI tools.
