The Commercial Contracts role within the Sales Organization is responsible delivering effective, high quality commercial contracts with customers for Ford Energy.

You will coordinate activities across onsite cross-functional Sales, Business Development, Engineering, Finance, Quality, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams to ensure disciplined execution of large-scale projects —including schedule, cost, quality, and risk management.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in contract management, procurement, or a related commercial role.
  • Familiarity with BESS business models and contracts; preference for candidates with 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
  • Battery Energy storage systems (BESS)
  • Large Scale Electric Power / Utility projects
  • Li-ion battery-related projects
  • Strong understanding of contract law principles and commercial terms.
  • Proven negotiation and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) certification.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA, JD).
  • Experience with specific industry-related contracts.

This position is leadership level 5 and ranges from $138,240-261,720.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

As Ford establishes a wholly owned subsidiary focused on Battery Energy Storage Systems, this role will initially be employed by Ford and is expected to transition to the subsidiary within one year.

  • Manage the entire contract lifecycle from initiation to close-out, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and executing various commercial agreements.
  • Ensure all contractual terms and conditions are adhered to, minimizing risks and fostering beneficial relationships with all involved parties.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including Legal, Sales, Procurement, Finance, and Project Management, to ensure contract terms meet business requirements and objectives.
  • Conduct meticulous review of legal and financial documentation to ensure compliance with company policies, legal frameworks, and industry regulations.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with customers, vendors, and partners to achieve favorable outcomes while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential contractual risks, providing proactive solutions and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Monitor contract performance, key deadlines, and obligations, implementing amendments, extensions, or renewals as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all contract correspondence, documentation, and data.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on contract-related matters and best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of contract management processes and templates.
