As a Technical Value Management (TVM) Engineer within the IPTSE Cost Transformation team, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing cost-saving initiatives across various powertrain and thermal commodities. Your primary mission is to lead cross-functional teams to meet a 2026CY TVM target of . This role sits at the intersection of engineering excellence and financial discipline, requiring a deep understanding of automotive systems and the ability to drive projects through the full implementation lifecycle.

  • Strategy & Idea Generation: Lead the "TVM Funnel" generation process to identify new cost-reduction opportunities. Work closely with Design & Release (D&R) teams to brainstorm and validate technical changes that reduce cost without compromising quality.
  • Project Management: Manage the entire Cost Reduction Idea Database (CRID) list for assigned departments. Ensure all projects are tracked via the Workplan workbook and meet established milestones for 2026 implementation.
  • Data-Driven Analysis: Utilize Ford’s AI-based cost-modeling tools and local IPTSE data mining resources to identify cost discrepancies and usage variances across engine and thermal platforms.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the primary liaison between IPTSE engineering, Vehicle Programs, Finance, and Benchmarking teams. Coordinate global efforts across North America, Europe, India, and South America.
  • Executive Reporting: Prepare and present project status, financial outlooks, and technical roadmaps to senior management on a frequent basis.
  • Technical Deep Dives: Establish "best-in-class" cost and usage roadmaps for high-value commodities, including base engine, exhaust/after-treatment, turbochargers, and thermal systems.
  • Knowledge Management: Identify and document lessons learned throughout the implementation process to ensure knowledge preservation and continuous improvement for future model years.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in automotive engineering, specifically within Powertrain, Thermal, or Exhaust systems.
  • Project Management: Proven track record of managing complex, multi-functional projects with minimal oversight.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of base engine components, air induction, and evaporative emissions systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analytics and the ability to use advanced data-mining tools to drive business decisions.
