The Enterprise Architecture Dev Enablement Organization’s Portal and Products Team is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer with strong Dev Sec Ops background and strong programming skills in both frontend and backend technologies, and skills related to debugging issues in cloud applications based on cloud-based environments (preferable GCP) . These skills will be used to support the creation, enhancements, maintenance, and support activities of several key products that are owned and operated by our Dev Enablement organization. These products include a Backstage based Internal Developer Portal, several DevSecOps pipelines offerings (Jenkins, Tekton, and GitHub Actions), and various Cloud Native services that support our Dev Enablement ecosystem. The successful candidate will perform development activities for one to many of the software products mentioned above.

• Apply software engineering skills to the enhancement and maintenance of our Backstage based Internal Developer Portal.
• Debug issues in different cloud-based applications requiring the revision of different elements like monitoring tools, logs, authentication tools, API Management, IaC code, scripting code, security configurations.
• Develop new plugins and modules that will enhance the capabilities of the developer portal.
• Maintain DevSecOps pipeline code that will be used by a large community of software development teams at Ford.
• Enhance and maintain a set of cloud native services that support our DevSecOps pipelines.
• Enhance, Maintain, and Support reusable software components utilized by internal development teams at Ford.
• Plan, implement, and monitor our products and services.
• Identify and resolve issues and provide technical support for the products we operate.
• Simplifies complex ideas and conveys them clearly in both oral and written communication.

• +3 years of experience with Cloud Platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), Cloud Native application development.

• Must have plenty experience debugging issues in cloud-application

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC - Terraform).
  • Automation and CI/CD (Tekton, Jenkins).
  • Monitoring and logging (GCP Cloud Logging or similar).
  • Cloud Security (IAM).
  • Debugging and Problem-Solving (capability to identify and resolve performance issues, configuration errors, and other technical problems in cloud-deployed applications.

   

• Knowledge of CI/CD build tools (i.e. Jenkins, Tekton, GitHub Actions)
• Must have development skills in a backend language and framework (Java, GO, Spring Boot, J2EE, etc.).
• Familiarity developing, maintaining and using APIs.

 

• Nice to have:
  • Front-end language and framework (JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, React, etc.).
  • Knowledge or familiarity with Backstage open-source platform.
