Within EY, Our Financial Services Legal & Regulatory team blends legal and regulatory expertise with business insights to advise top-tier financial institutions. We work on high-impact projects, tackling the evolving legal and regulatory challenges in banking, insurance, asset management, payment services, etc.

Your key responsibilities

As a (Senior) Consultant, you will work closely with clients to help them navigate complex new and existing regulations, ensuring compliance while driving business success. You will provide strategic legal advice, contribute to regulatory implementation projects, and collaborate with financial institutions' compliance and legal teams.

Your work will cover key regulatory topics such as:

  • Financial Crime(AML, Sanctions, Market Abuse, Fraud)

    • Banking & Capital Markets

    • Payment Services (Fin Tech, PSD3, digital finance)

    • Asset Management

    • MiFID

    • Insurance(IDD incl. Value for Money, DORA, FiDA)

    • Compliance & Governance(Fit & Proper, Board effectiveness)

    • Data Protection, Privacy & Emerging Technologies

    • Sustainable Finance & ESG Compliance

    • Corporate Law

You’ll be at the forefront of regulatory change, working in multidisciplinary teams across Belgium and EMEIA. Your role will include client interaction, business development, and helping shape the future of EY’s Legal & Regulatory services.

Who You Will Be Working With

- You will join a larger **cross-disciplinary team** of legal and regulatory professionals who offer support to the Financial Services Industry, including banking, asset management, insurance, and payment services

-  You will, in the context of broader projects, collaborate with experts across the **different areas of the Financial Services Industry value chain**, such as risk management specialists, strategy consultants…

- You will collaborate with **top-tier financial institutions** (both on an *ad-hoc* basis as on a loaning of staff basis)

- You will also have the opportunity to mentor and support more junior team members

Skills and attributes for success

EY Legal & Regulatory is looking for **ambitious and talented legal and regulatory (senior)**consultants who accumulated a few years of relevant experience and are eager to (further) specialize in financial regulatory topics. If you're excited about being part of a dynamic, cross-disciplinary team at the heart of regulatory change, this is the opportunity for you!

- **Belgian Master’s degree in Law**

- **2 – 5 years of professional experience** in a law firm, consultancy, public body or financial institution

- Strong knowledge of **financial regulations**(or a strong desire to learn). Ability to perform **in-depth** and **creative analysis** to be able to find **pragmatic solutions** for our client’s challenges.

- Excellent **communication** & relationship-building skills

- Perfect oral and written knowledge of **Dutch and/or French,**with an excellent knowledge of **English**
