We are seeking a Mainframe Application Development Engineer with experience in Banking Domain at EY GDS. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions that support EY's efforts in enhancing and maintaining client workloads, with a focus on legacy systems and legacy modernization. Collaboration with development teams will be essential to build, deploy, and manage applications that align with business objectives and enhance our Banking services. Additionally, there will be opportunities to support EY's efforts in modernizing client workloads from legacy systems. • Your Key Responsibilities
• Designing/ maintaining mainframe applications, supporting mainframe modernization activities.
• Participate in all aspects of analysis, design, coding testing & implementation
• Participate in application assessment, discovery, roadmap development and application modernization.
• Working in Agile methodology.
• Work with vendor teams from IT, Ops & Business.
• Analyse business requirements; write functional and minor development specifications.
• Code solutions that meet the business requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
• Follow and improve existing coding standards and best practices.
• Must have significant experience developing applications under an onshore-offshore model.
• Capability to approach problems as challenges and deal with them positively and constructively.

Primary Skills / Must have:

Technical skills:

• Must demonstrate strong technical and business leadership skills.

• Strong Cobol, CICS, JCL, VSAM, DB2 experience.

• Experience in Version Controller Tools like ENDEVOR, CHANGEMAN, ISPW, GIT; Scheduling Tools: CA7, Control-M, OPC.

• Experience in MQ and DB2 stored procedure.

• Experience in creating/consuming data in relational database environments (preferably DB2, SQL).

• Experience in mainframe modernization (e.g., migrating to Azure, AWS, or hybrid systems), R-Lanes such as Rewrite, Rehost or Refactor.

• Experience in Data Migration from Mainframe to Cloud/On-prem solutions

• Working experience in one or more of the following technologies – Cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP), Java, Python

• Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret business requirements and produce functional and technical
  design documents.
  Professional skills:

• Detail oriented, ability to turn deliverables around quickly with high degree of accuracy.

• Good time management skills – ability to prioritize and multi-task, handling multiple efforts at once.

• Strong written and oral communications skills are a must.

• Strong desire to understand and learn domain.

• Secondary Skills / Desired skills

• Experience in PL/I, IMS.

• Knowledge/experience in developing and using Generative AI solutions.

• Knowledge of microservices architecture or API integration with mainframe.

• Familiarity with cloud-based DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).

• Languages like Python, Java, .Net, C, C++.

• Knowledge of Native stored procedures.

• Experience in the financial/banking industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: 5-10 years of hands-on experience in the solutioning and delivery of applications hosted in Mainframes. Exposure to modern technologies like Cloud, Java, Python, GenAI.
• Certifications: Azure Developer/Dev

Ops Associate or Azure AI Engineer Associate:

• Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile development practices and methodologies.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

Education:

Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
