Senior Analyst

  • Real Estate
    Within SaT, Corporate Real Estate (CRE) group is part of Strategy and execution (S&E) sub-service line. Our CRE practice provides corporate real estate, analytical services and other business advisory services to investors, lenders and Fortune 500 companies who leverage real estate assets for their day-to-day operations.

GDS CRE works as a strategic partner to global RE practices, working with them to provide highly efficient and value-added services to meet our clients’ corporate real estate and diligence requirements.

The opportunity

We are looking for Senior Analyst with expertise in corporate real estate (CRE) to join our Real Estate Team.
As a member of the Ernst & Young Real Estate team, the Senior Analyst will serve as a member of multiple client engagement teams around the world (US, UK, Germany, Australia, etc) which primarily assist in real estate and hospitality corporate real estate engagements in a fast-paced, service-oriented business environment. A Senior Analyst will work with a wide variety of real estate and hospitality-specific clients including owners, corporate, developers, builders, financial institutions, lenders, pension funds, as well as numerous Fortune 500 companies.

Typical engagements include facility management, cost optimization, benchmarking, integration Synergies, Sell and separate transactions, cash flow analyses, workplace strategy/occupancy planning, and cash flow modelling.

Your key responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of multiple client engagement teams, taking a prominent role in understanding clients’ needs, conducting analyses and reporting results

  • Work on and manage engagements on corporate real estate advisory, and due diligence, spread across property types

  • We are involved in study of a variety of property types including office, retail, hotel, industrial, mixed-use, infrastructure, and special-use properties

  • Work on a range of CRE projects involving detailed property and portfolio analysis, benchmarking with market trends, and suggesting portfolio optimizing and cost saving opportunities

  • Assisting with the execution of the carve-out and integration plan while working to constantly identify areas for improvement

  • Study and make recommendations with respect to strategic dispositions, investment and market opportunities, asset review and market studies, highest and best use analysis, acquisition and advice analysis

  • Develop and maintain a professional and proactive interdependent and agile culture promoting a growth mindset, meritocracy, and innovation.

  • Effectively manage all operational procedures and processes, ensuring compliance with

  • Take ownership of your projects, while working collaboratively with other team members

  • Maintain and develop positive, productive, and professional relationships with clients

  • Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services provided.

  • Performing any other task or ad hoc projects as requested.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong functional experience in corporate finance, real estate, procurement, shared service center operations, commercial operations, sales and finance function operations

  • Knowledge of developing cost models, cash flow planning, building integration plan etc.

  • Proficient at using research databases like Loop Net, REIS, RCA (real capital analytics), Co Star, CBRE, JLL, C&W, Capital IQ, One Source, Factiva, Reuters, etc.

  • Analysing financial statements, conducting market research studies, and preparing reports, Application of Free Cash Flows, WACC, Advanced MS Excel models, etc.

  • Strong knowledge of key clauses in lease (options, economic terms, terminations)

  • Excellent thoughtfulness, project management, communication, interpersonal and teaming skills

  • Willingness and ability to travel, when necessary

  • Systematically promote the sharing of knowledge within the group; Contribute pro-actively to building team spirit

  • Exposure to tools like Tableau, Power Bl, Alteryx etc. will be added advantage

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Master’s in business administration (MBA) specialize in Finance

  • 2-4 years of direct work experience in real estate projects especially CRE work

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Experience with BIG4 accounting firm would be provided weightage
