The Government and public sector transactions services is part of EY's Government & Public Sector (GPS) Services which is a network of highly skilled professionals from assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services, devoted to serving the government and public sector organizations and institutions.

The practice combines private sector leading practice with an understanding of the public sector’s diverse needs, focused on delivering improved public services. Government and public sector transactions services, sits under EY’s Transaction Advisory Services practice, a market-leading, multi-disciplinary team, working with leading businesses across a range of industries. This practice is in a unique position to deliver implementable strategies given the firm’s sector depth, transaction perspectives, and operational insights.

The practice provides experience working with various sectors such as, Transport, Social & Health care, Education, Urban & Infrastructure, Economic Development Advisory , Water waste & Sanitation, Power & Utilities and Public Finance & Management.

T - TCF - Infrastructure Advisory:

Strategy and Transactions enables clients to reimagine ecosystems, reshape portfolios and reinvent for a better future. We help corporates, private equity, governments, sovereign wealth funds, private and family businesses, and educational institutions with their key financial issues. Our team helps clients manage their risk/return trade-offs to support them with better decision-making around financing and capital efficiency.

Your key responsibilities

Technical Excellence

    • Provide programme coordination and implementation support for E-mobility schemes and programmes, including initiatives related to electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
  • Support location assessment, preparation of Pre-Feasibility Studies, Detailed Project Reports, proposals, and related documentation for EV charging infrastructure projects, in line with applicable guidelines.
  • Coordinate with field units, Government departments, CPOs, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and timely implementation of activities.
  • Assist in implementation monitoring, progress tracking, reporting, and ensuring compliance with applicable programme requirements.
  • Support technical, financial, and administrative reviews, as required from time to time.
  • Prepare concept notes, briefing notes, and presentations for senior officials to support technical and financial appraisal.
  • Support the planning and organisation of workshops, consultations, and stakeholder engagement events.
  • Provide inputs and recommendations to support formulation and refinement of E-mobility / RE / Solar/ Clean Tech policies and programmes.
  • Support activities related to power distribution and commercial functions, including renewable energy integration, distribution-linked schemes, and associated regulatory assessments.
  • Assist in corporate planning activities, including analytical support, performance reporting, and power procurement optimisation.
  • Contribute to organisation-level strategy development, including strategic planning, programme prioritisation, and institutional strengthening initiatives.

Skills and attributes

To qualify for the role you must have

Qualification

  • BE / BTech + Masters in Mobility, Power, MBA preferred

Experience

  • 5–8+ years of hands-on experience in the power, renewable energy, clean technology, or electric mobility sector, with demonstrated exposure to policy formulation, programme management, project development and implementation, and/or utility-level planning and commercial functions. Experience in working with a State Renewable Energy Development Agency, State Power Utility, PSU, MNRE, or similar public-sector or government-linked organisations is desirable. Exposure to power distribution, renewable energy integration, corporate planning, or strategic advisory roles will be considered an added advantage.
