Junior VAT Technology Consultant

The opportunity: your next adventure awaits

• Support VAT and tax digitalization projects, including data extraction, transformation, validation, and automation of VAT compliance and reporting processes

• Prepare and transform structured and unstructured source data (Excel, flat files, ERP extracts, raw datasets) into defined output formats (XML and others)

• Support the implementation and generation of FAIA (SAF-T) XML files, including data mapping, transformation logic, and XML population

• Perform FAIA validation, covering both XSD (schema) checks and advanced content and consistency validations

• Analyze validation and processing errors, identify root causes in source data, and support remediation

• Work with ETL and data transformation workflows used in VAT and tax reporting projects

• Assist in maintaining and improving implementation and validation logic, scripts, and workflows (primarily Python-based)

• Contribute to technical and functional documentation (data mappings, validation rules, process notes)

• Collaborate with senior team members on VAT digitalization projects, including debugging complex data issues

• Take ownership of defined implementation, validation, and transformation tasks under supervision.

What we look for:

• Junior-level profile with a clear interest in tax technology, data, and automation

• Must-haves:

• Basic to intermediate Python skills (able to read, adapt, and debug existing scripts)

• Basic to intermediate experience with ETL / data transformation tools

• Strong Excel skills (formulas, lookups, data checks, large datasets)

• Comfortable working with structured and unstructured data, including messy or incomplete inputs

• Understanding of structured data concepts (XML, CSV, schemas)

• High attention to detail and ability to follow strict, rule-based specifications

• Nice-to-haves:

• Exposure to VAT or accounting concepts

• Experience with XML / XSD validation or hierarchical data models

• Prior work on compliance, reporting, or regulatory projects

• Experience automating repetitive tasks or improving data processes

• Basic familiarity with version control (Git)
