Job Title:IT Disaster Recovery Specialist Experience: 5 to 8 Years

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Disaster Recovery (DR) Manager with 5–8 years of experience in IT infrastructure resilience and recovery planning. The ideal candidate will also have hands-on experience in Planning and executing Disaster Recovery Exercises. This role ensures the organization's critical IT systems can recover rapidly and effectively in the event of an outage or disaster.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary roles and responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain IT Disaster Recovery strategies, plans, and runbooks for critical systems and application services.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and business impact analyses (BIA) to identify recovery priorities.

  • Coordinate and lead Disaster Recovery exercises, failover testing, and tabletop exercises.

  • Work closely with application, infrastructure, and business teams to validate various recovery time objectives.

  • Maintain documentation for DR procedures, policies, and communication plans.

  • Monitor compliance with DR policies and industry best practices.

  • Collaborate with vendors and cloud service providers for offsite DR solutions.

  • Strong reporting and documentation skills to help develop materials on the action plans and provide status updates to senior leadership on the risks and dependencies associated with the action plans.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills for international clients primarily based out of US and UK locations including prior experience in managing clients based out of the mentioned locations.

Additional roles and responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with SMEs during DR drills to validate failover and integrity checks.

  • Ensure alignment of database high availability (HA) and DR strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Experience working at GSIB Bank (Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Citibank, etc.

  • 8–12 years of hands-on experience in IT Disaster Recovery planning and testing.

  • Exposure to industry frameworks such as ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34 etc.

  • Certification preferred: CDRE, CBCP etc.

  • Experience with DR tools and platforms (e.g., Veeam, Zerto, SRM, Commvault, Azure Site Recovery, etc.).

  • Familiarity with backup and replication technologies.

  • Understanding of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud DR strategies (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Strong documentation and coordination skills.

  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CBCP, CDRE, Microsoft/AWS/Azure certifications).

  • Exposure to enterprise monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Zabbix, Nagios, Solar Winds, Service Now).
