What role you will play in our team

Works with Asset Optimizers to develop and implement commercial strategies for physical trading activity

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of market fundamentals, buying/selling positions, associated relevant regulations, and standard industry contracting practices required for trading to support the Value Chain

  • Develop and maintain relationships with market participants With guidance, negotiate and execute short term sales and purchases of crude oil, natural gas, petroleum products, biofuels, environmental/emissions credits, power and services consistent with supply chain optimization signals

  • Ensure alignment with functions, and compliance with all relevant management systems and guidelines

  • Execute optimization trading activities to ensure supply/demand are in balance throughout the Exxon Mobil system

  • Participate in optimization strategy development

  • Manage transactions and contracts, as needed, through entire supply cycle and document them in relevant system

  • Participate in, or support, value chain optimization decisions, as applicable

About you

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree, or higher, in any numerate subject including Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics or Finance based qualification

  • Prior experience within physical or financial commodity trading

  • Be able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen, an entrepreneurial mind-set, and analytical/IT skills

  • Possess a broad range of personal effectiveness and leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate and influence business decisions in a multi-cultural team environment

  • Have fluent English language skills (written and spoken), with additional language skills being an advantage
