Primary Purpose

To support the development and execution of project outreach strategies for Centrally Managed Projects across the BGE service territory. This role involves providing project analysis and risk assessment from an outreach perspective. Key responsibilities include conducting outreach walkdowns, stakeholder analysis, and risk evaluations to develop outreach scopes for contractors. These efforts aim to proactively inform our customer base. The position also oversees outreach contractors working on behalf of BGE and collaborates with internal outreach stakeholder teams to ensure alignment on project outreach strategies. Additionally, the role is responsible for performance tracking and reporting for the outreach scorecard, developing, and tracking KPIs for outreach contractors, and capturing lessons learned from outreach activities within the Centrally Managed Projects portfolio. This position will require attendance at off-hour meetings/events.

The position may require extended hours during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Primary Duties

  • Develop and Execute Outreach Strategies: Create and implement plans to inform and engage stakeholders about various projects. 20%
  • Project Analysis and Risk Assessment: Evaluate projects from an outreach perspective to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. 20%
  • Conduct Outreach Walkdowns and Stakeholder Analysis: Perform on-site evaluations and analyze stakeholders to tailor outreach efforts effectively. 20%
  • Manage Outreach Contractors: Oversee contractors who carry out outreach activities, ensuring they align with BGE's strategies. 15%
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work with internal stakeholders to ensure cohesive outreach strategies. 10%
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor and report on outreach activities, including developing KPIs and tracking performance metrics. 10%
  • Extended Hours: Be available for off-hour meetings and events, and potentially work extended hours during storms or other energy delivery emergencies. 5%

Job Scope

Requires detailed knowledge of Company’s service territory, external political and government structures, BGE’s electric and gas operations and customer service policies. Requires development of effective relationships across all business units of company and with decision makers in the governmental, business and community sectors. Position utilizes communication, organization and facilitation skills. High degree of confidentiality is associated with the position. Work involves a moderate degree of independent decision-making, creativity, flexibility and ability to respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis, as needed, and to attend to off-hour meetings/events. Much of the work is high-pressured with time constraints.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, communications, business administration, and/or public relations AND 4-7 years related experience in governmental affairs, customer service, communications, or relevant utility experience OR, in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 6-9 years relevant experience is required.
  • Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams, with experience in project management.
  • Requires strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communications skills – both written and oral.
  • Demonstrated skills in Microsoft products including Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership skills proven in the area of team building, issues management and process improvements.
  • Proven ability to write detailed reports, letters and analyze quantitative data.

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $82,400.00/Yr. – $113,300.00/Yr.
