How will you contribute to our magical experience?
The System Engineering & Integration team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help design, build, and deploy an automated integration platform that enhances testing across complex backend systems supporting Disney's media metadata pipelines. This role involves developing scalable and dependable backend applications in Java and/or Python, leveraging cloud technologies (AWS) and orchestrating workflows with tools like Temporal. You'll contribute to system reliability, data flow optimization, and performance monitoring. As part of a fast-paced, cross-functional team, you’ll work through the full software development lifecycle, translating requirements into high-impact backend services while driving innovation and becoming a key stakeholder in critical engineering solutions.
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for:
- Design and implement scalable automated validations within a service-focused framework.
- Apply cloud services to create and sustain dependable infrastructure for high-availability systems.
- Collaborate with backend development teams to improve code quality through unit tests, automation, and code reviews.
- Participate in the full application lifecycle, solving complex challenges and delivering robust solutions.
- Identify test coverage gaps and work with project managers to prioritize roadmaps.
Soft Skills Requirements:
- Advanced level of English (is a must)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Technical Requirements:
Must have:
- 4+ years of developing software.
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in Java programming and experience with Spring Boot framework.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS).
- Understanding of source control concepts and systems, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
- Familiarity on build and deployment technologies such as Jenkins and Docker.
- Knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, etc.).
Nice to Have:
- Hands-on experience with Temporal, Kubernetes, and Datadog.
- Experience with data validation and orchestration frameworks.
- Experience with Python.
