TOOLS PROGRAMMER INTERN

What You'll Do

At Epic, we empower creators across the world to build the future of interactive entertainment. As part of the Unreal Engine team, you’ll help design and improve the tools that artists, designers, and developers rely on every day. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and write C++ code, collaborate with artists and developers, and design solutions that make creative workflows faster, smarter, and more fun.

In this role, you will

• Learn how tools are built in the unreal editor and how the underlying systems function

• Build and refine tools that streamline workflows and expand the creative possibilities of Unreal Engine

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented C++ code for various tool-related systems

• Gain hands-on experience working with Unreal Engine’s editor and toolchain

• Learn from and collaborate with some of the most talented developers in the industry, gaining exposure to real-world development at scale

What we're looking for

• Strong programming fundamentals with a focus on C++

• A solid grasp of object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures

• Curiosity and creativity in solving complex problems with elegant solutions

• Familiarity with Unreal Engine—or other game engines—and an interest in extending editor tools and pipelines

• A quick learner who adapts easily to new technologies and workflows

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal)

This internship has a flexible start date in 2026. Recruitment will be ongoing until teams find an ideal match.
