Responsibilities:

• Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with client stakeholders through deep understanding of the business domain, processes, and a consultative approach

• Eliciting, analysing, validating, and documenting business, functional, and technical requirements (including also non-functional requirements)

• Preparing, maintaining, and owning functional and technical specifications, ensuring clarity of business rules, system behaviour, integrations, and constraints

• Actively using Jira, Confluence, Miro or similar Tools for requirements management, documentation, collaboration, and visual facilitation

• Creating screen mock-ups, wireframes, UI flows, as well as other relevant visual artifacts to support requirement clarification

• Understanding and documenting service-based architectures, including APIs, services, and data exchange mechanisms between systems

• Working with and documenting structured data formats such as XML and XSD, including validation rules and data contracts

• Demonstrating good understanding of relational databases, entities, relationships, primary/foreign keys, and their impact on business logic and system behaviour

• Translating business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items, while keeping the product backlog accurate and up to date

• Working closely with the engineering team (backend, frontend, QA, architects) and actively guiding the team to ensure shared understanding of requirements and expected outcomes

• Managing project scope and proactively identifying and controlling scope creep,

• Handling Change Requests (CRs), bugs, and enhancements throughout the delivery lifecycle, including analysis, prioritization, estimation support, and stakeholder alignment

• Supporting and performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensuring readiness for release prior to delivery

• Actively participating in negotiations with clients and internal stakeholders regarding scope, priorities, timelines, and trade-offs

• 5+ years of professional experience in a role of Business Analyst or Product Owner ideally in a software development or digital transformation environment

• Proven ability to translate business needs into clear, structured functional and technical requirements that enable engineering teams to deliver effectively

• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies

• Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and Miro, including backlog management, documentation, CRs, and bug tracking

• Solid technical understanding of service-oriented architectures, APIs, and data exchange between systems

• Experience with relational databases, data modeling concepts, and structured data formats such as XML/XSD

• Demonstrated experience in scope management, change management, and stakeholder negotiations

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to align business and technical stakeholders

• Strong analytical skills, structured mindset, and a high level of autonomy

• Experience in planning, supporting, and executing acceptance testing (UAT)

• Ability to measure and report on the effectiveness of product and solution iterations

• Fluent (written and verbal) in Slovenian and English language

• Having (IIBA) CBAP/CCBA or similar certificate is a plus
