The Engineer Automation Quality works more independently, designing, developing, and maintaining moderately complex automated test scripts to validate the functionality of software applications. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure effective execution of our quality assurance strategies.
Essential Functions:

  • Solid hands-on experience writing automated tests in Java

  • Good understanding of different test types (unit, integration, component, end-to-end) and the ability to design tests with proper isolation and basic test environment setup.

  • Comfortable working with or testing systems that use the core development stack: Java, Spring Boot, JDBC, MySQL, AWS (EKS, SQS, S3, SES, RDS), Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, GitLab.

  • Able to write unit tests in Java, including competent use of Mockito for mocking dependencies (open to learning advanced patterns like static mocking if not already familiar).

  • Experience testing or validating REST APIs, with interest in learning tools and techniques for gRPC.

  • Understanding of basic metrics, logging, and observability tools, and interest in improving test visibility.

  • Strong commitment to test automation, ensuring new code is covered and maintaining quality standards.

  • Clear communication skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering and product teams.

  • Experience working within an agile scrum environment.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years overall testing experience​ with 1-2 years automation testing experience or equivalent automation training

  • Proficiency in Java programming language (Core concepts) required

  • Strong understanding of and experience with requirement analysis is required

  • Strong experience with automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Karate, JUnit, TestNG) along with debugging skills is a must.

  • Experience in using version control systems (e.g., Git) required.

  • Knowledge of BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber) required.

  • Familiarity with SQL and database testing required.

  • Experience in UI/API functional testing required.

  • Experience in using JIRA, ZE management tools required.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to analyze test results and identify issues required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred

  • Good in design and estimation techniques desired.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills preferred.

  • Good knowledge of continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins) a plus.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies desired.

Nice to Have

  • Willingness to expand into Python-based automation in the future.

  • Experience with security testing or load/performance testing.

  • Exposure to or interest in Agentic Pipelines.

  • Experience with or curiosity about front-end testing (JavaScript, React).

  • A strong learning mindset and interest in deepening automation skills and tooling expertise.
