Seeking a dynamic individual to assist in continuing build out of a new department within our operations division supporting alternative investments. The team is growing quickly and building many of the processes from the ground up. Individual should feel comfortable performing various functions and responsibilities associated with the product(s) in scope. The individual will play a centralized role in leading our firm's effort and increased ability to expand the array of alternative investment products able to be held in firm name. This role is for an individual interested in partnering with other departments, divisions, and client segments in order to create a seamless client experience. Individual will be able to operate in a complex product involving working across multiple areas and stakeholders to execute operational functions.

What You'll Do….

  • Ownership of the daily processing and operational support of alternative investment products, ensuring transactions, trade activity, and related servicing functions are executed accurately, thoroughly, and within established service level expectations.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high level of quality and precision in daily operational activities; proactively identifying discrepancies, researching exceptions, and coordinating resolution with internal and external stakeholders while mitigating risk and ensuring a positive client experience.
  • Own daily workflows to ensure timely execution of alternative investment transactions while adhering to regulatory requirements, firm policies, and operational controls.
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in alternative investment operations and associated trading processes to support business continuity, operational scalability, and process excellence.
  • Partner with internal business areas, vendors, product sponsors, and service providers to facilitate the accurate and timely processing of alternative investment transactions and servicing requests.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, reduce manual touchpoints, strengthen controls, and improve overall processing quality through process improvements, automation initiatives, and enhanced reporting capabilities.
  • Serve as a key resource for complex operational inquiries related to alternative investments, leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive timely and effective resolutions.
  • Contribute to the development of procedures, controls, training materials, and best practices that promote consistent, accurate, and scalable execution of alternative investment trading and related operational functions.

Current Internal home-based associates please note: Even as a campus-based posted role you are eligible to apply and, if selected, you may retain your home-based status. However future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work and some roles may carry a preference for campus-based presence.

Skills Required:

  • Strong problem-solving skills are required in order to research non-routine questions and recognize complex situations involving client accounts and/or firm systems.
  • Ability to analyze, research and make decisions on non-routine issues independently with little or no guidance.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory environment and ability to apply knowledge to reach appropriate conclusions in best interest of clients and firm.
  • Must be able to understand the upstream/downstream impacts to other departments and divisions within the firm and coordinate time sensitive work across multiple areas.

Position Requirements:

  • Familiarity with varying products within the capital markets.
  • Comfortable in and able to drive results in an ambiguous environment.
  • Able to independently research, and problem solve questions and issues related to broad team functions.
  • Able to clearly articulate thoughts both verbally and through the written channel.
  • Comfortable representing Edward Jones to external vendor(s), product partners, and other entities.
  • Able to evaluate processes and assist in mitigating inherent risks.

What could set you apart:

  • Series 7 / 99 preferred but not required.
  • Complex products / alternatives operational experience.

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
