Platform Engineer – Delivery Engineering

About the Team

The Delivery Engineering organization is part of e Bay's Global Technology (CT) . We build and operate the AI/ML-powered e Bay Developer Platform, enabling engineering teams to deliver software faster and more reliably. Our responsibilities include e Bay’s Continuous Delivery platform and a suite of AI-driven no-code/low-code platforms used daily by engineers across the company.

About the Role

We are seeking a Platform Engineer who is passionate about shaping the future of developer productivity and continuous delivery at scale. In this role, you will **design and develop technically challenging full-stack solutions (front-end and back-end)**to power e Bay’s next-generation developer platform. You will build scalable, reliable, and efficient platform capabilities that enable product teams to develop, test, and release software with high velocity.

Your work will directly contribute to a

company-wide initiative: Engineering Velocity, and you will collaborate across teams to solve complex engineering challenges and deliver impactful solutions that transform how e Bay engineers work every day. Along the way, you’ll be part of a team that values innovation and collaboration—making the journey as rewarding as the results.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with colleagues and customers across functions and geographies.

• Identify friction points in developer experience/productivity and design platform-level solutions.

• Design and develop technically challenging solutions across both front-end and back-end systems.

• Align stakeholders, propose improvements, and deliver solutions end-to-end.

• Assess risks, analyze trade-offs, and define mitigation strategies.

• Contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.

• Communicate effectively within and across teams to drive alignment and execution.

What You’ll Bring

• Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• Technical Depth: Strong understanding of design patterns, layered architectures, core CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms).

• Languages & Frameworks: Strong experience with JVM languages (Java, Kotlin); Spring Boot for REST APIs; scripting language proficiency (Python, Shell); frontend experience with React (or Angular) is a plus.

• Systems Design: Proven experience architecting backend systems; designing and operating large-scale, reliable, distributed systems; building event-driven, high-performance applications.

• DevOps & Platform: Knowledge of modern DevOps principles and continuous delivery practices; experience with Kubernetes and Tekton is a plus.

• AI/ML Exposure: Experience with MCP servers, AI agents, LLMs, and ML models is a plus.

• Productivity & Metrics: Familiarity with DORA metrics, Flow Framework, or developer productivity platform initiatives is a plus.

• Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, strong collaboration skills, and a positive, growth-oriented mindset.
