e Bay Live Engineering builds and operates the real-time platform behind e Bay’s live shopping and interactive experiences. We combine low-latency video, interactive chat, and commerce actions with robust trust, safety, and analytics—at global scale.
Responsibilities
-
Mobile System Design & Development: Design, build, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and reliable iOS applications and client-side architectures that support e Bay’s marketplace experiences.

End-to-End Feature Ownership: Own iOS features and components end to end, managing the full lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, release, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.

Production-Quality Code: Translate product and technical requirements into clean, efficient, maintainable, and production-ready Swift/Objective-C code, with a strong focus on performance, responsiveness, and user experience.

Testing & Automation: Drive test-first development through unit, integration, and UI testing, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines for reliable and repeatable iOS releases.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and other mobile engineers to align technical decisions with business priorities and delivery goals.

Code Quality & Standards: Conduct code reviews, maintain clear documentation, and advocate iOS engineering best practices, architectural consistency, and platform standards.

Measurable & Reliable Mobile Engineering: Build testable, observable mobile features, leveraging analytics, logging, and crash reporting to support data-driven decisions and continuous improvement.

Release & Operational Readiness: Support production releases and incident response for mobile applications, ensuring stability, performance, and a high-quality customer experience.

Continuous Improvement: Evaluate design and implementation options, identify optimization opportunities (performance, memory, battery, UX), and continuously raise the technical bar across iOS projects and teams.
Qualifications:

Experience & Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience), with 6–8+ years of professional native iOS development experience.

iOS & Swift Expertise: Deep expertise in iOS development using Swift and Objective-C, with strong command of advanced Swift features including generics, memory management, async/await, concurrency, and Combine.

UI, Frameworks & Design: Extensive experience with UIKit and SwiftUI, with a strong understanding of Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and core iOS frameworks for building polished, user-centric applications.

Architecture & Platform Design: Proven experience implementing modern iOS architectural patterns and designing scalable, maintainable systems and shared codebases for large consumer applications.

Networking & APIs: Strong experience integrating network services using REST, GraphQL, protobuf, streaming or pub/sub protocols, including migrations between networking stacks.

Quality, Performance & Reliability: Experience testing iOS applications using platform tools, monitoring production systems, and improving performance, stability, and observability.

Build, Dependencies & Delivery: Proficiency with Xcode, iOS dependency management tools (SPM, Cocoa Pods, Carthage), and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines in Agile environments.

Technical Leadership & Ownership: Experience contributing to or driving technical strategy and roadmaps across domains, with strong ownership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
