Job Description: #About the Role:
As SVP - Product Management (Product Platforms),  you will be the visionary leader responsible for the foundational technology layer that powers Dow Jones. You will drive the evolution of our technical ecosystem into a unified, Enterprise Platform—enabling customers to seamlessly access the full breadth of Dow Jones content, data, and tools through a single, cohesive experience.

As the leader of this function, you will oversee the critical pillars managed by your VP direct reports, including Customer Experience & Engagement (Messaging/Personalization), Publishing & Editorial Tools, and Core Operational Platforms. You will act as the critical bridge between our engineering capabilities and our commercial ambitions, leveraging deep business acumen to align technical platform expertise with the commercial strategy and growth goals of our GMs and Business Leaders.

You will report to the Chief Technology Officer.

Collaborating closely with our newsrooms and strategic partners, we spearhead the development of groundbreaking products and technologies.

You Will:

Define the Platform Vision:

Drive the long-term product vision for APIs and cross-brand capabilities, ensuring platform investments deliver measurable value and leverage across the enterprise while breaking down silos for a unified customer journey.

  • Execute Strategic Roadmaps:Lead the platform product management function, partnering with engineering, to optimize resource allocation, manage multi-million dollar budgets, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality capabilities

  • Modernize Platforms: Liaise closely with Engineering leadership to deliver on the overarching technology strategy to consolidate legacy systems into a unified platform architecture. You will drive the evolution of platform teams to operate with increased efficiency by leveraging common capabilities, shared services, and standardized workflows

  • Drive Organizational Alignment: Partner with brand SVPs, GMs, and Commercial teams to align platform roadmaps with business priorities. You will ensure technical expertise is harnessed to meet commercial growth goals and foster a culture of technical excellence

Direct VP-Led Pillars:

  • Engagement Platforms: Oversee strategy for centralized messaging, targeting, and personalization tools

  • Publishing Ecosystems: Modernize tools used by global newsrooms to produce unrivaled content efficiently

  • Shared Services: Lead the strategy for APIs and infrastructure across web, mobile, audio, and video

  • Search and AI capabilities: Lead the strategy for centralized, AI-driven discovery and search capabilities, providing enterprise-scale recommendation engines and generative AI tools across all brands

  • Core Web and Mobile: Drive the development of shared web and mobile infrastructure and common SDKs to standardize app development and accelerate time-to-market for brand-specific experiences

  • Liaise with Commercial Leadership:Act as a strategic partner to Business Leaders to ensure the platform acts as a primary engine for revenue and market expansion

You Have:

  • Extensive Leadership Experience: 15 years of product management experience, with significant time leading platform or infrastructure products and scaling high-performing teams in a complex, multi-brand environment

  • Business Acumen & Strategic Influence: Proven ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and navigate organizational complexity. You can translate commercial strategy into technical requirements and make tough build vs. buy or centralize vs. federate decisions

  • Technical Mastery: A deep understanding of platform economics, API design, and a proven track record of building developer-facing products at scale

  • Commercial Fluency: Experience working directly with GMs and Sales/Marketing leaders to align technical roadmaps with P&L objectives and subscription growth

  • Educational Background: An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred for engaging credibly on architecture decisions -OR- equivalent work experience

Pay Range: $315,000 - $375,000
