Job description
tl;dr This is a great job to gain introductory management experience, and there are career opportunities if you want!
Here's some pro tips for getting hired as a manager at the Domino's restaurant in Gardner
- Tip 1: Have a clean background
- Tip 2: Have a willingness to show up to work in uniform, on time, and a smile on your face (fake it if you need to)
- Tip 3: Have positive energy! We're willing to teach you what you need to know, but we need you to be coachable and willing to take constructive feedback.
Restaurants can be very challenging. If you have experience, I don’t need to say anything else. If you are new to restaurants, let me give you reasons NOT to get involved - this saves both of us time, effort, and nights of tearful regret. Sometimes other employees don’t show up and you get stuck staying late, sometimes everyone asks off for a certain day and you have to miss that big party, sometimes we are way busier than expected and everyone is a little tense, and sometimes customers take out their frustration on us (and especially in a management role, this is a reality you would have to deal with).
However, there’s some good parts too! It can be very fast paced, which makes shifts go by quickly. While the menu doesn’t change, every day is different with the challenges it presents, and so you don’t have the same boring task over and over (and over…and over…and over…). When there are canceled orders (which happens way more than it should), we get free pizza! The assistant manager role can be a great springboard to a career within the Domino’s brand - or a great resume builder that you can take with you when you leave us hanging high and dry for greener pastures.
There are also delivery opportunities and hybrid positions available (part-time manager, part time driver) which many folks enjoy, so feel free to ask about that too.
If you would like to set up an interview, send an email to jobs@tagteampizza.com with your name, phone number, and the date of the last time you rented a VHS tape.
Sincerely,
The Domino’s Hiring Manager:
