What you'll do As a Software Engineer Intern at Docusign in the PLG engineering team, you will contribute to the vision, strategy, and execution of key initiatives within Commerce Platform Services, focused on optimizing the performance and reliability of our mission-critical APIs.

You will collaborate closely with experienced Backend and Frontend Engineers, and other stakeholder groups to build scalable solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers and maintain the integrity of the Docusign platform.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director, Engineering, Architecture.

Responsibility Assist in profiling and analyzing the performance of high-volume API endpoints using industry-standard monitoring tools Develop and implement performance optimizations in a modern programming environment (primarily C#/.NET Core) Collaborate cross-functionally with Product owners and other teams to deliver innovative, stable, and performant solutions Partner with Senior Engineers on system design discussions and rigorous code reviews Engage with technical documentation to understand existing system architecture and design choices Job Designation Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work.

Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation) Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job.

What you bring Basic Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field

Experience: with modern collaboration and project management tools such as Slack, Google Docs, Jira, Git (or similar version control), and familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS) Preferred Passion for backend systems, high-scale architecture, and performance optimization Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in articulating technical trade-offs Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions based on performance metrics

Experience: with one or more languages such as React or C# Familiarity with NoSQL databases A conceptual understanding of microservices architecture and cloud computing principles

Experience: with performance profiling, monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus), or basic load testing Wage Transparency Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
