What you'll do We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Engineering to lead multiple teams in our Bangalore office and serve as a critical senior leader within the Cloud and Production Engineering (CPE) organization.

In this role, you will oversee software engineers responsible for designing and optimizing core developer experiences to maximize productivity across all of Docusign engineering.

Additionally, you will take direct responsibility for the Storage-as-a-Service platform, building a multi-role team focused on infrastructure, orchestration, and production excellence.

As a senior leader in Bangalore, you will establish a center of gravity and provide the strategic thinking necessary to maximize the success and impact of all local CPE teams.

Finally, you will be responsible for attracting key talent and maintaining high performance to ensure CPE remains a best-in-class organization as its presence grows.

This position is a people manager role reporting to the Vice President, Cloud Engineering.

Responsibility Act as CPE’s senior on-site leader: represent the group locally, drive engagement, coordinate cross-functional work, and ensure operational excellence Build self-sustaining, autonomous teams in Bangalore that are aligned with Docusign and CPE priorities Define and execute the Dev Ex strategy: establish goals, roadmaps, and success metrics (e.g., MTTR, merge-to-deploy time, build/test cycle time, change failure rate) Improve the onboarding and experience of internal developers adopting and using our microservices platform Build robust observability for the developer journey: telemetry, dashboards, SLA/SLOs, and feedback loops; publish transparent KPIs Partner with product and platform teams to remove bottlenecks, reduce flaky tests, and right-size environments; lead cross-org initiatives and migrations Drive safe change management and incident response for build/test/release systems; own reliability, capacity planning, and cost efficiency across this domain Establish engineering standards, documentation, and enablement programs (training, office hours, inner-source contributions) Build and lead high-performing managers/ICs; provide clear expectations, coaching, and career growth pathways Attract, hire, and retain top talent; scale teams aligned to business priorities Foster an inclusive, high-accountability culture centered on impact, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement Bridge time zones effectively; ensure crisp handoffs and decision velocity with US counterparts Job Designation Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work.

Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation) Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job.

What you bring Basic 15+ years of combined software development and management experience across at least 3 different languages 10+ years of hands-on software development as an individual contributor Demonstrated ownership of developer productivity/dev tooling, CI/CD, build/test infrastructure, or internal platforms at meaningful scale Demonstrated ownership of production-grade services with high-availability Proven record of delivering measurable velocity and reliability improvements backed by data and clear KPIs/OKRs Strong systems thinking with hands-on familiarity in several of: CI/CD platforms and pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins), artifact repos, release orchestration Source control workflows at scale (monorepo/multirepo, protected branches, code owners, policy enforcement) Test strategy/infra (parallelization, caching, flakiness reduction, hermetic builds) Observability for Dev Ex (logs/metrics/traces, dashboards, SLOs; e.g., Open Telemetry, Prometheus, Grafana) Cloud/container foundations (Kubernetes, containers, IaC such as Terraform), and environment management
