About the Role & Team

As the Production Manager of the Scenic Arts Department at the Disney Event Group (DEG), you will be responsible for driving the production process and financial success of assigned projects from inception to completion. The Production Manager supports and maintains the production timeline and deliverables. You will also monitor project status, deliverables, timelines, schedules, budgets, scope and meetings. The Production Manager supports the Producer and Art Directors in meeting all project objectives while adhering to company/departmental standards and policies.

This is a Full-Time position, reporting to the Producer.

What You Will Do

  • Support the Producer and the Art Directors in meeting all scenic and décor project objectives while adhering to company/departmental standards and policies.

  • Drive the production processes and financial success of assigned shows and events from inception to completion.

  • Receives requests and begins the bidding process

  • Partner with DEG Production to build the ER2 order

  • Communicates request to Warehouse Manager

  • Monitor project status, deliverables, timeline schedules, budget, scope, and meetings.

  • Act as point of contact for all incoming requests

  • Develop event budgets and proposals: Handle financial/accounting issues relative to area of responsibility.

  • Monitor & manage event status, deliverables, timelines, schedules, budgets, scope, and meetings ensuring adherence to project schedules.

  • Liaison with Central Florida Oversight Tourism District Permitting

  • Safety

  • Lead the event production process and serve as the communication point for external and internal clients and stakeholders.

  • Act as the interface for all other lines of business influenced by the project.

  • Partner with DEG Creative Team, Disney Parks Live Entertainment, Broadcast Production, and other external clients and partners.

  • Partner with the Warehouse Manager on all business needs for the DEG Scenic Arts Warehouse

  • Utilize various software/computer programs including, ER2, Microsoft Office Excel, Word PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet and continue to learn new software programs or applications as needed

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years professional leadership in live show/theatrical production, live event production, technical, and/or stage management
  • Demonstrated experience in zero based budget creation, labor and operating expense estimating, and financial management/reporting with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven experience in leading procurement efforts for entertainment related goods/services and managing bid package processes.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills and ability to lead conflict resolution with proven successful experience in team building and cross-functional collaboration
  • Demonstrated strong delegation, partnering, and negotiation skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills, enhancing the success of each project
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and comfort interacting with all levels of leadership
  • Proven ability to initiate, organize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner
  • Proven strong analytical and administrative skills with the ability to identify areas for continuous process improvement
  • Trusted and respected leader that guides with integrity
  • Can receive and deliver honest, actionable, and credible feedback to team members, as appropriate
  • Available and willing to work weekends, holidays, and third shift as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years background combined in stage management, scenic, stagecraft, production, or technical disciplines
  • Demonstrated Theme Park entertainment experience or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Event Entertainment Show Production and Entertainment Operations
  • Knowledge of Entertainment Production and Operations in a professional theatrical, theme park, or Disney Meetings and Events environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team and eager to be part of a vibrant, creative work culture, bringing and sharing unique perspective to the role
  • Familiarity working with entertainment unions and/or associations.

Education

  • B.A. or B.S. in Theater, Design, Entertainment, Event Management, Project Management, or equivalent preferred
