About the role
At Diageo, we're proud to create some of the world's most loved brands - and behind every great product is a world-class manufacturing operation. As a Maintenance Fitter at our Huntingwood site, you'll play a critical role in keeping our plant running safely, efficiently and reliably.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your mechanical expertise, problem-solving mindset and passion for continuous improvement will directly influence safety, quality, service, cost and asset care outcomes. You'll work closely with Operations, Engineering and Electrical colleagues as part of the site Asset Care team s to support day-to-day performance and the delivery of improved Overall Equipment Effectiveness in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

  • What will you do?- Deliver safe, high-quality mechanical maintenance across the site, always working in line with Diageo Health, Safety, Environmental and Food Safety standards.

  • Execute planned preventative maintenance to the required standard and frequency, using maintenance system data to drive performance.

  • Perform daily trades inspections and respond effectively to breakdowns and fault-finding activities.

  • Support capital projects, including installation, commissioning and testing, contributing to early equipment management.

  • Use SAP to accurately record completed preventative and corrective work tasks, book engineering spares and support asset care goals.

  • Drive waste elimination, 5S principles and Manufacturing Excellence standards in line with site functional area goals.

  • Apply strong problem-solving tools to address recurring issues and deliver sustainable improvements.

  • Collaborate closely with Packaging Operations and Electrical colleagues in Asset Care team to resolve production issues and improve overall equipment effectiveness.

  • What will you bring?- A completed recognised mechanical apprenticeship or Mechanical National Certificate (or equivalent) within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of asset performance, maintenance philosophies and continuous improvement.

  • Experience in preventative and breakdown maintenance, including MIG & TIG welding

  • Proven ability to work autonomously while being an effective and collaborative team member.

  • Sound numerical, verbal reasoning and computer literacy skills.

  • A proactive, flexible mindset with the resilience to thrive in a changing environment.

  • Working knowledge of SAP PM (desirable) and risk standards across Safety, Quality, Hygiene and Environment.
