Role Responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant, you will engage with a diverse range of global clients across various industries. Your key responsibilities will include:

Collaborating with clients to evaluate, pilot, and implement predictive and generative AI technologies and other advanced finance technology enablers.

Utilizing advanced analytical techniques to diagnose issues and develop solutions.

Conducting interviews with staff and clients to gather insights.

Formulating and presenting actionable recommendations.

Assisting in the delivery and deployment of AI-enabled solutions.

Team Overview

Our Business Finance offering empowers finance teams to drive strategic value by transforming and synchronizing planning, costing, budgeting, and forecasting across various functions. Utilizing advanced, scalable data and technology platforms, we generate actionable insights and analytics, streamline decision-making, and enable data-driven profitable growth. Additionally, we manage risks and opportunities associated with diverse and complex grant programs through comprehensive end-to-end grants management solutions.

The Finance AI team focuses on automating, accelerating, and augmenting the finance function through data and AI models. We support CFOs in meeting the growing demands for real-time financial decision-making by advising, implementing, and operating innovative AI solutions. Our goal is to ensure the finance function remains dynamic, forward-looking, and integral to business success.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Over 3 years of relevant experience in consulting within a professional services environment or industry, focusing on architecting and deploying AI and other technical solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly explain complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Product Development: Skilled in translating technical design into a clear, functional AI product roadmap, collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., data scientists, engineers, finance, and business stakeholders) to prioritize development features across multiple phases.
  • Finance Knowledge: Understanding of finance business processes, including FP&A, strategic finance, business unit finance, controllership (close & consolidations), tax, treasury, management and external reporting, and investor relations.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong ability to architect generative AI solutions across the full technology stack, including infrastructure (e.g., Nvidia, AWS, GCP, Azure), model layer (e.g., GPT-4o, Claude, Llama), and application layer (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini).
  • Design Skills: Experience with product prototyping and design mock-ups using product management tools (e.g., Figma).
  • AI Solutions Development: Experience developing AI solutions (proofs of concepts and/or scaled solutions) that leverage generative AI to demonstrate value and secure stakeholder buy-in.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience building systems (AI and non-AI) on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) to optimize solutions and align with business needs.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Computer Science, Data Science) from an accredited university.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 50%, based pm the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Immigration: Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from a STEM-designated program; a master’s degree is a plus.
  • Certifications: Accredited with AI or ML certifications (e.g., AWS, Google Data Analytics, Microsoft Azure).
  • AI Use Cases: Experience identifying use cases where generative AI can add value, prioritizing based on AI value frameworks.
  • API Integration: Experience connecting applications or services using APIs.
  • Ethical AI Practices: Knowledge of best practices in training, evaluating, and deploying generative AI responsibly and ethically.
  • Finance Transformation: Experience in finance transformation, accounting, or related fields with familiarity in process improvement, ERP/EPM systems design and implementation, data management and analysis, and project management.
  • Process Automation: Experience designing and developing proofs of concepts that leverage agentic AI for end-to-end process automation.
  • Performance Metrics: Experience defining and measuring KPIs and metrics for generative and predictive AI projects to evaluate success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Documentation: Proficiency in creating comprehensive technical documentation and user manuals for AI solutions.
  • Sales Activities: Experience with pre-sales, proposals, and RFP activities.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills; professional competence in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Mentorship: Experience mentoring and coaching junior staff.
    The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $124,950-$208,250.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
