What you’ll achieve

You will act as legal advisor to Dell supporting our AI compliance and governance programs. As part of this role, you will manage a variety of Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) related legal matters, provide oversight for global governance and regulatory compliance programs, as well as partner with cross-functional business functions, including the Office of the Chief Technology Officer, the Security & Resiliency Organization (SRO), Information Technology, Product Groups, and Privacy. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting edge legal issues and gain experience and knowledge in the rapidly evolving areas of AI/ML and data governance.

You will:

  • Help support Dell AI governance and compliance programs.

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to numerous Dell organization on the development and enforcement of policies, procedures, protocols, assessments related to AI.

  • Review and evaluate the impact of emerging AI and digital legislative, regulatory, and industry frameworks applicable to Dell.

  • Support the licensing, onboarding and risk assessments of third-party AI tools.

  • Assist with drafting responses to customer and regulatory inquires related to Dell's development and use of AI.

  • Must have a law degree from a recognized university and must be admitted to a recognized bar

  • Minimum of 8+ years law firm and/or in-house experience with a combination of experience advising on Artificial Intelligence, Intellectual Property, Information Technology, Data Governance, Security and/or Privacy legal issues

  • Experience supporting or managing compliance programs

  • Familiarity with AI/ML, software development and/or experience as product counsel

  • Knowledge of global AI and security industry standards and frameworks, information security and privacy laws and regulations (e.g. EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO, NIS2, GDPR, CCPA et al)

Desirable Requirements

  • Regulatory interpretation experience as well as Legal project management experience is helpful

  • Cybersecurity and/or privacy experience

  • Experience in technology transactions, with an emphasis on drafting and negotiating, AI or cloud services agreements
